Toriel finished tucking in the girl, then walked downstairs. She knocked on the door twice. Whomever was on the other side, knocked back.
Toriel put her back to the door and slid down.
"Hello." she said in despair.
"Uh...hey....you alright?" the voice on the other side replied.
Toriel sighed, "a human fell down today."
"That's great!"
"No...its not..."
"How come?"
"She's....different. One minute she's intimidating and the next you want to swaddle her...she's very wary of people...like she doesn't trust them."
"So...what are you gonna do?"
Toriel sighed again, "I don't know..."
"I'd help but....you know."
"You can help! Please, if she ever comes through this door, protect her. She's extra special, and I can't afford to have her lost. Protect her even through her encounter with Asgore. And...For the good of every monster beyond this door...don't ever make her feel in danger....ever..."
"I'll....I'll try my best."
"Thank you...I think I hear her waking up. I have to go. Have a good day."
"You too."
