Toriel chuckled nervously, "This IS your home now..."
"No it's not. I want to get back to the surface. Tell me how."
"D-do you want to hear an interesting snail fact?"
"No! I want to go home! Quit stalling you old shit and LET ME GO HOME!"
Toriel blinked in surprise, "excuse me...I must tend to something."
Toriel set down her book and exited the room.
Miranda quickly followed after.
She ran down some stairs and ran to toriel, about to give her a piece of her mind.
"If you exit the ruins..."
Miranda stopped, listening.
"They, ASGORE, will kill you."
Miranda looked down, "at least they'll be able to say I tried..."
Toriel stopped. This was, of course, Determination. But it was a brand new kind. A kind in which is doesn't stem from pride or power...it stems from a goal. A goal to go home that is driven by the heart. This girl is filled with a new, stronger, and twice as impenetrable kind of determination.
And it's named after the very thing that terrifies monsters, love.
Somehow, by her love for someone else increasing, her L.O.V.E. increases. But that is her exact downfall, if she is TOO focused on her loved ones, her LV decreases. It wavers and fluctuates in a dangerous way. And right now, her LV was almost as high as Chara's.
Toriel was shaking where she stood, but remained calm. Instantly, she remembered something scary. When she found Miranda, flowey was supposed to be there, but he wasn't. Did she kill him? Toriel had assumed that when she met her. But why did she let her into her home!? Why oh why! Oh, how she knew but didn't want to think of the scary thought.
It was her words, her actions, her intimidation, her persuasions, her bribery! Everything about her! She's...whats the word...CUNNING! Miranda was faking a scared outward demeanor to get Toriel's affection and care as a pit stop! Toriel was being fooled!
She squinted her eyes at the teen, looking into her own eyes for the first time. Those eyes proved her correct. Her conceptions and theories about this little culprit. Well...she figured....two can play at that game.
"If you want to get past me, My Child, then you're going to have to prove you are strong enough to survive.."
Miranda got a look, a look of regret. Toriel could see that she...she acted like she didn't want to fight. Her LV decreased. But the girl grit her teeth, and it increased again.
Miranda ran abruptly ran at Toriel with no warning, pulling out her pepper spray and launching it into her eyes. Toriel screamed and covered her eyes, stepping back a few steps.
Miranda took the opportunity to punch her twice in the stomach, then kick her side so she falls to the ground.
Toriel hit the ground and was winded as Miranda sat her entire weight onto the older woman's chest and stomach abruptly.
Toriel moved her hands to try and push off the teen, but was in return repeatedly and rapidly punched in the face.
Toriel cried for help as she was mercilessly beat to death.
However, Miranda's punching began to slow and weaken. She eventually stopped all together.
Barely even alive, with a bloody nose, several missing teeth, and a black eye, Toriel looked up at her.
Miranda was using her bloody hands to cover her eyes as she cried.
Toriel suddenly felt horrible for making the girl do this. She gently picked up Miranda and stood with what little effort she had left. She hugged her.
"I'm sorry..." Miranda whispered, "I never wanted to hurt you...I just wanted to go home...and...I thought you were gonna kill me..."
Toriel hugged her tighter. This was all her fault...
Miranda was gently set down.
"D-Do you forgive me...?"
"O-of course...my ch-ch....uhg...."
Toriel felt to one knee, holding her body as her legs began to denigrate.
"Wha...?"
"I'm....heh....wow....you're really strong.."
"NononononONONO!!!!" Miranda ran and hugged her.
"You can't die!! YOU CAN'T!!"
Toriel hugged back the best she could.
"I'm sorry....I now know you didn't mean it....and....I'll never blame you. Even though I didn't know you very long....I love you...Miranda..."
And she turned to dust.
Miranda shook as she stood there, covered in Toriel. She dropped to her knees and screamed.
"NO!"
The scream was loud and throat scratching, it was comparable to a jaguar growl. Barely understandable.
Miranda gathered up bits of Toriel and pounded the floor with we fists screaming no over and over as she cried all over the dust.
Eventually, she fell asleep, still in Toriel's embrace...
