I swallowed at the sight of my hair color. It was white. Not silver or blonde pure white. I watched as black began lighter and lighter till it was completely white leaving a pure white strand. I feel my heart pounding. My head ached and everything felt like I was falling again. It wasn't till Suri screamed that I realized something was happening. I looked up to see that the mirror had shattered and behind me, picture frames were beginning to fall breaking into a million pieces. The shards flying and embedding themselves into the wall. Suri ran to me grabbing my shoulders. She shook me hard before yelling " Calm the Fuck Down."
Calm Down!
I whispered over and over again within my head while I opened and closed my hands over and over again trying to gain somewhat of a calming foothold.
I slowly started to feel the fear disappear from my mind. "Oh, Thank god." I could hear the sounds of something falling. I turned to see shards of wood not even a foot from me and Suri fall to the ground. " Oh God," I whispered covering my mouth in shock.Suri eased her grip on my shoulders. She was pale again but I could see that she was working something in her mind. She licked her lips and mumbled," There's a connection to your emotions" She turned and gripped my shoulders again and insisted "I need to know how to calm down...Please for me and this lovely house of yours." I nodded taking a deep breath and letting it out.
I gave Suri a small smile and told her. " I'm alright. A little shaken but I'm alright now."
Suri takes her own breath and leaned against the wall. She ran a hand through her own hair before explaining. "Well...Know we know your Telekinesis is connected to your emotions. It seems once your body starts producing the stress hormone. It triggers your flight or fight which in your case. Your body fights but instead of with your fists....it's your mind." Suri sounded fascinated.
I shook my head again and I pointed at the piece of my hair and I asked: " What about this." She raised her hand taking a piece of hair between her fingers. She studied it before letting it go. " I don't know." I ran my fingers through my hair and saw that there were more strains. " What am I going to do about this?"
I take a breath and Suri gives a small laugh " Well, the school might be a problem but your mom might have an issue. We'll just say we had a problem with the dye job. She'll bye it.I think ." She reached pulling at the white strand that was so brightly sticking from my jet black hair.
I nodded and I said " I can keep my emotions in check right...I mean I can hold it in but sometimes these type of emotion's come out. That's what I'm worried about..."
You see little one your mother has a bit of a temper went it comes to things about her life that no one should know.
For my little one it started with your grandfather, grandmother and to your Aunt Suri. I don't like it when people make fun of the people I love and well sometimes when they do I attack those in full force for the wrong that they have done to those that I love.
It happened those attacks a lot in high school, something I hope you'll have easier dealings with. If people make fun or do things to the people you love don't do what mommy did but maybe show them that if they try that stuff again that they know some fear.
She tapped her lip with her fingers and she clapped and said: "My mom's shop we can make some kind of concoction that you can carry in your bottle to school and when you're upset. You were pretty mellow after taking a couple of sips of that drink compared to your first episode...you drink it... and I think the school allows the unique hair color." I nodded.
I changed into a long-sleeved turtleneck a pair of Nike tights which were also tights a black hoodie and a pair of Chucks. We got up and I quickly got dressed and we walked down the stairs and out the house making sure that I kept my hoodie on in order to hide my new white highlights.
As we walked I noticed that there were a lot of SUV in our town. And beside them were men's in suits and they were scanning or talking to several people in the town. The black suits and they're demeanor told me they weren't normal people and I was getting a little worried. I grabbed onto Suri's hand and she gripped it squeezing softly while we walked. She kept her head forward ignoring the people and the SUV's.
We got to the Herb Shop and as Suri unlocked the door I kept my the suit's in my corner eye view. Every now and then I would see them looking into their suits searching for something. When Suri got the door open the thick smell of the dried herbs wafted towards my noise making me sneeze twice before I managed to gather myself together that I could walk into the store. Her mom wasn't here; which was a good thing considering I couldn't think of an explanation to give to her about why I and her daughter were in her shop messing with her products.
Suri knew the right amount of herbs and ones we needed. I started the stove and she gathered the three herbs. The three were Lemon Balm, Lavender, and also rosemary. Each of these herbs provides the user with a sense of anti-anxiety and a sort of calming effect.
We started to grind the herbs together then began to pour water into this pot. As we let it shimmer I looked towards Suri who was looking at the rest of the herb shop.
" So, You thinking about becoming a herbalist like your mother or...."
" I'm going to do something like that."
" So, You're not going on your father's offer."
" Tim's."
" Tim's Offer."
" No, at least not in that way. I want something that I like not something he likes."
Suri was trying to figure what she wanted to do later in her life become a scientist like her biological father who abandoned her early in her life and then tried to contact her or became one of the type herbalist in the country like her mother and I wouldn't say that I kind of understood what she wanted in her life. She loved science but she loved what her mother did which was helping people through plants. Suri was angry at her father for abandoning her and destroying her mother's idea of love but I really didn't know.
We let it stir for a little bit and then we strained it into a huge bottle. I looked at it and smelled it and it smelt a little sweet and I said: " Alright...so let's put this in my fridge and I'll take it with me tomorrow." I nodded and I hugged her and said: " Thank you....your the best."
"I know." She gave a sweet smile as she watched me drink some of the water. I felt the wave of anxiety disappear from my body and a sense of calm spread over my body like a wave.
