Chapter 13

I wouldn't lie about feeling uncomfortable as I sat across the room from the Government Officials. I reached down touching the dog's head petting him softly as I could hear the huge distain about them being in the house neither less a couple of feet in front of me.  Suri came into the room and set down some cups of tea.  She looked at me before sitting down and she carefully reached over holding my hand before looking over to the officers. One of the officers eyes casted down only for a second telling me that they were analyzing us.

" Miss. Amaya."  One official called out causing Me to look at him. Suri turned with me to look at the man. I looked at him and answered " Yes, I'm Her. I am Amaya. Miss. Amaya. I am she."  I babbled out finally.  " We found your blood at the crime scene of Mister..." My mind went blank as soon as they said those words and I instantly started to cry.   You see little one Your mom was smart not as smart as Suri but when I came to thinking of a situation I could my way out of it came quite quickly. 

" I didn't mean to kill him.  He trying to...." I sobbed and Suri caught on quite quick holding onto me. " I went to part and He was there. He made a move on me and tried to you know get with me but I rejected him. I was angry that I went out and started walking in the woods but I wasn't looking and I walked to deep and I was to far from house for one to hear me when he...." I stopped swallowing and Suri rubbed my hand before I continued " He pulled into the Meadow and tried to..." I couldn't say the word so I skipped it." I fought back and He started to beat. I struggled so hard that I fought him. I grabbed a rock and I hit him hard in the head. He went down .I got up to get some way off before I passed out in the woods. When I woke I managed get myself out of the forest and back home. "  Suri stood up and got me some napkins for me.  " Did you see anything that night?"  The other asked and I shook my head. " I didn't...I was scared that when I was running I wasn't looking around I just ran."  Suri turned to the officers and stated in a sad tone  " I should have not taken to the party. She called me and We heard about the murder that I was so scared for her. I know what those police interviews are like to woman like her they show not a bit of sympathy but they blame and I didn't want her to deal with that bullshit."     The Dog growled and licked at my hand I reached down petting his head.

" Please I didn't mean to hurt him. He was just."  I toke the tissue and dabbed it against my eyes making the tears disappear.

" It already, We are sorry for bringing this up." The other officer who seemed to be the more talkative said. "We are sorry to take up your time and We won't tell the police if you won't tell them about us being here and talking to you." The last part of his words had been threating.

I nodded with Suri and we watched as they disappeared out the door. Suri watched the car from the peephole from the door while I hugged the dog. He licked my cheek and let out a whine which I hushed. I scratched his ear causing him to stomp his foot against the woodened floor.

Suri let out a sigh of relief before sliding against the door and collapsing. She rubbed her hand down her face before she turned towards me and began to laugh. I smiled and began to too. The dog titled his head and began to bark causing us to laugh even harder.  

I know that sounds weird little one but your mommy and Aunt Suri had done something that ultimately though we couldn't do or at least wouldn't survive from. 

Suri wiped her tears from her face and looked at me before laughing " We are never doing that again." I nodded and She complimented " That was nice improvising. And who says You couldn't act."   I rolled my eyes and stood up walking over to pull her up as well.

" Ok, So Now that we have that over do you still want to go over but I swear every thing is trying to stop us from getting to that place."  I stated looking at the door and wondering what the hell else that could be thrown our way.

" Who knows I mean we have a monster, government agents, hell the only thing I could think of now would have to be..."

Glass broke and I turned to see a grenade no only a couple of feet in front of us.

"Grenade!"  I yelled.

I threw myself over Suri and the Dog as our bodies were soon consumed by heat and flames. The sound of glass breaking and the smell of smoke penetrated my senses. I could feel the heat on my back but no intense pain.  I kept my eyes closed making sure that your Aunt Suri was covered.  I loved her and would give my life to protect her in any way that I could. I hope that you could find someone to  do with as well.   

When the blast was over I raised broken wood and glass falling off my body and onto the floor around us.  I looked down to see Suri unconscious but at least unharmed but when I looked for the dog e was...He was gone.  I shook my head the sound of ringing perforated my senses over creating a painful ache in my brain. But as the Ringing disappeared Another sound entered my ears one that send a chill down my spine.

It was the sound of a gun.
