Naya was on the beach in California. Naya was sitting in a chair under and unbrella on the sand. She had a bathing suit on and sunglasses. There was a small table next to her with food and drinks. It's been like this for a week now. This is the life. But somethings missing, or someone. She missed her friends and family. Lucy means a lot to Naya and wishes she was there. But someone else kept crossing her mind too, Heather. Naya has feelings for her and doesn't know what to do. Naya is a lot like her parents. Strong, confident, can be mean at times, and mostly.... Afraid of her feelings. Especially when it's towards a girl. She's always been into guys. But some people don't know they're gay until they meet a certain someone. She meet that certain someone. She wonders if Heather was gay and felt the same way about her.
The next day Naya woke up at noon. She usually doesn't wake up this late but she needs it. She needs this time off to get her mind straight. She took a shower and got dressed. She curled her hair even curlier then she usually does. She sat on the edge of her bed and started thinking out loud to herself. "I can't believe how I feel. This isn't good. Or is it? I shouldn't be ashamed of who I am. But what about how everyone will react? Or do? Or say? People will be mean to me and treat me differently and talk behind my back. I can't handle that. What will I do? I don't want to be treated different or be made fun of. But I don't want to pretend to be someone I'm not either. I don't know what to do." Naya explained to herself. She sighed and put on her bathing suit and then left.
Naya was sitting on the beach, like everyday, and her eyes were closed. Then someone was blocking her light. "You're blocking my light." Naya stated rudley keeping her eyes shut. "My bad." A familiar voice stated. She opened her eyes, and standing above her is, Heather. She was smiling and Naya smiled too. "Hey!" Heather greeted. "Hi!" Naya greeted. Heather has never seen the rude side of Naya before.
Naya and Heather were walking around the beach talking. "So? Why'd you come?" Naya asked. "I missed you and wanted to see you." Heather stated. "Really?" Naya asked with a smile. "Of course. Beside, not a lot of people like me. I love how you actually like and care about me." Heather stated. "Why?" Naya asked honestly surprised. "I don't know. People say I'm weird, a little loopy. They say I'm weird because I'm always happy and I love reading. I'm smart when it comes to reading and writing and English but everything else I'm not too smart at and that's also another reason why I'm called weird." Heather explained. "That's ridiculous. I love how happy you always are and you are very smart." Naya exclaimed. Heather smiled and Naya smiled because of how cute she thinks Heathers smile is. "Thanks." Heather stated. "Any time." Naya stated.
A week later and they were still there. Heather walked up to Naya. "I need to tell you something." Heather stated. "Yeah?" Naya asked. "You don't know this. But this is also why people think I'm weird, it's the main reason." Heather explained. Naya was speechless. "That's ridiculous!" Naya exclaimed and Heather nodded in agreement. "I just recently broke up with my girlfriend." Heather added. "Really? Why?" Naya asked. "I have feelings for someone else." Heather admitted. "Oh." Naya stated. "I also know if someones gay or lesbian even if they don't." Heather stated. "Really?" Naya asked nervous. "Oh yeah." Heather replied with a smile. "What do you like?" Heather asked. "Huh?" Naya asked. "Girls or boys?" Heather asked. "Uh boys." Naya stated unconvincing. Heather nodded. But now that Naya said it out loud she feels like it isn't right. She finally realized she's a lesbian. She wonders if she says that out loud how it'll feel. Heather, like she said, can tell when someones gay or lesbian. So Heather knows. She wonders when Naya will come to terms with it. "So who is this girl you like?" Naya asked after a long moment of silence. "You don't know her. She has long dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She's tall and is gorgeous. She dresses casual yet fancy. She's tough yet can be sweet. She's truly amazing." Heather explained. "Sounds great." Naya stated putting on a fake smile.
The next day Naya and Heather had a lot of fun. After dinner they were sitting on the couch. "I need to talk to you." Heather stated. "Okay." Naya agreed. "I'm leaving." Heather stated. "What? Why?" Naya asked. "Because.... This isn't my style, my home. I miss it there. I want you to come back with my but you haven't completely found yourself yet. I will miss you. I'm leaving tonight. I'm already packed and ready to go. I wish I could stay but I just can't. I hope you find yourself soon and come home." Heather explained and then she went in her room. Naya was shocked.
Heather walked down stairs with her luggage and met Naya by the door. "I'll miss you." Naya stated. "I'll miss you too." Heather agreed. They hugged a little longer then either of them had planned. Then she left, and Naya was alone. Naya sighed and left to get to bed, she decided to go to bed a bit earlier.
