Chapter 9: Finding Yourself!

       Naya woke up with a yawn. She got up and got dressed. When she went downstairs she jumped when everyone yelled "Surprise!" It is now Naya's 18th birthday. Lucy turned 19 three months ago. They had a great time. Naya just wanted to get away though. She went into the kitchen, when no one was there, and called Heather. They have gotten really close. "Hi." Naya greeted. "Hey!" Heather greeted. "What are you up to?" Naya asked. "Just reading." Heather replied. "What about you?" Heather asked. "My family and friends threw a surprise party for my birthday." Naya responded. "Happy Birthday!" Heather exclaimed. "Thanks." Naya stated. "Maybe you could drop by." Naya suggested. "I'd love to!" Heather exclaimed. "Great!" Naya exclaimed with a smile.
     There was a knock on the door and Naya was upstairs changing. She changed into short sleeves green and black stripped dress that goes to her knees with high heel boots and a long sleeves buttoned down yellow jacket. Her hair is down and curly. While she was changing her mom, Lettie, answered the door. "Hello?" Lettie asked. "Hi. I'm Heather. Naya invited me." Heather stated. "Oh. Well them come in." Lettie invited and Heather entered. Naya walked down the stairs and saw Heather with a present in her hands. She smiled and walked over to her. "You didn't have to get me anything." Naya stated. "I know but I wanted to." Heather stared. Lettie took the present to the table. Lettie took Dom from Brian and Mia. "Naya. Are you going to introduce us?" Dom asked. "Of course. Heather these are my parents Dom and Lettie. Mom. Dad. This is Heather. Someone I recently met." Naya introduced and they shook hands.
    Naya and Heather were talking and having fun on the couch. Then Lucy walked over as they were laughing. "Hey." Lucy greeted. "Hey." Naya greeted. "Heather. This is my bestest friend Lucy. Lucy. This is Heather." Naya introduced. They shook hands. "How's Ian?" Naya asked. "Good. He wanted me to come over but I said no." Lucy replied. "If you want to then go." Naya stated. "No! It's your 18th birthday." Lucy stated. "Then invite him here." Naya suggested. There was a moment of silence. "Nah." Lucy stated. "He hasn't met your parents, has he?" Naya asked. "No." Lucy stated. "Then they could finally meet him." Naya suggested. "Nah." Lucy stated. "They don't no about him, do they?" Naya asked. "No." Lucy replied. "They have to." Naya stated. "I know." Lucy stated.
Lucy changed and called Ian. Then she answered the door. "Hi." Lucy greeted with a smile. "Hey." Ian greeted. Lucy let Ian in. Lucy took a deep breath. Mom. Dad." Lucy stated as they turned around. Dom and Lettie went to talk to Hobbs and Elena. "Mom. Dad. This is.... My boyfriend." Lucy stated. "What?" Mia asked. "We didn't know you were seeing anyone." Brian stated. "Well, I wanted to keep it on the down low for a little bit. Since what happened last time." Lucy stated and her parents nodded in agreement.
       Lucy and Ian were walking around holding hands. "So what happened last time?" Ian asked. "It's a long story." Lucy stated. "I have time." Ian stated and Lucy sighed. "Okay. Well, long story short. I was dating a guy I was starting to really like and at the end of the race the cops came and he gave me to them so he could get away." Lucy explained. "Wow!" Ian exclaimed. "Yeah, but there's more. A little while later he came by to get me back. At first I didn't like it but I'm kind of glade that he did because he gave me the little push I needed to finally get over him." Lucy explained. Ian stopped and looked into Lucy's eyes. "I will never hurt you!" Ian exclaimed and Lucy smiled. "I know." Lucy agreed. They kissed and continued walking.
      Later on, after the party, Lucy was in her room in her house. Naya knocked and Lucy let her in. "Hey!" Lucy greeted. "Hi." Naya greeted. Naya sat next to Lucy. "I'm leaving." Naya confessed. "What?" Lucy asked. "I'm having these.... Feelings, and I don't know what to do with them. I've never felt this way, and I never thought I'd feel this way about this person but I do. I have to figure this out. I have to figure me out and who I am. I'm not sure anymore. I'll be back, soon. But I have to do this, for me." Naya explained and Lucy sighed. "I understand. I hope for nothing but the best for you. I hope you find out who you are and come home soon." Lucy stated. "Me too." Naya agreed. They hugged. "I love you!" Lucy exclaimed. "I love you too!" Naya exclaimed. Naya left and went to tell everyone else.
