Aliyah's POV:
I woke up to the chirping of birds and the sun shining on me. I looked at the clock and shrieked before quickly running to the bathroom. Its already 8:50!!! I have an interview at 9:30!! Ya Allah! This is so important for my career, I need to get in this hospital !!
quickly took a shower and applied some light makeup before running out of the room to the kitchen where I was met with a sleepy looking Maha and Aunty trying to feed her breakfast. When she saw me, she smiled and said,
"Beta, here's your breakfast!" I gave her a quick smile and ate the Aloo ka Paratha from her hands. I grabbed a drink of water, but she stopped me and fed me another Paratha, just when I saw Shehry came in with a big smile on his face.
"Ready to go aloo ka Paratha?" He asked and I gasped. He did not just call me Aloo ka Paratha??? God.... Aliyah... Aloo.... Stupid nicknames. I frowned at him and he smirked. My frown turned into a smile when Aunty scolded him. I nodded and gave Shaista Aunty and Maha a hug. While Shehry went out to get the car.
She wished me luck, and I remembered what my mother had said, the night before on the phone.
"Beta. There will always be a mother's blessing with you, no matter where you go. If its not me, then it will be someone else. She will come in any form. In any way. Anywhere. In this case, Shaista and Zaid bhai are your family, beta, don't forget this. Even if we're not there, they will always be there for you. That is your home now."
I had cried myself to sleep.Rehan was busy so he didn't come home.
I gave her a nervous smile ."Aunty..um.." She looked at me.
"Um.. can I uh.. call.."
"Yes beta?" She encouraged me. I sighed and said
"Can I call you Aunty?" I asked hesitantly. She frowned at first and I started to speak, but she cut me off with a bright smile .
"Beta, you know, I've always wanted an elder daughter who I could talk to, I could love and understand. It was a dream come true when Maha came into this world. A second daughter would make me the luckiest person ever. Aunty toh kya, you can call me Mom, also." I smiled and gave her a tight hug.
"Allah Hafiz Ammi!" I waved before running out.
When we reached the place, I took a deep breath and thanked Shehry. He frowned and shook his head.
"Oh..sorry?" He frowned again and I closed my eyes. "No sorry no thank you in friendship..."I said resignedly, remembering what he said on New Years. I smiled remembering the dialogue.
He nodded and smiled, I smiled back and got out of the car, waving to him. He waved back and said to call him when I was done and wished me good luck, before driving off.
I sighed heading in.

"Congratulations, Ms, you got the residency. You can start from next month." I smiled and shook hands with the employer before walking out of her office with a triumphant smile. I called Shehry and just asked him to come, not telling him anything.
When he came, I immediately came in, with a frown. Shehry looked at me and looked uncomfortable.
"Aliyah, its ok. There will be many more uh.. opportunities for you.." I shook my head, trying not to let my frown slip.
"Its ok. Nothing to worry about." He was so worried that I felt bad for him. I turned around.
"I got the job."
"ALiyah, don't be sad, You can try for another one- Wait what?" He asked counfused. I burst out laughing.
"I got the job!!" His face changed from confused to happiness and he cheered.
"We will get ice-cream at night. Treat from me. Manaa mat karna! You can't refuse" He said and I nodded and we drove home.
I noticed the sky turning black, rain starting to splatter onto the window. There was a loud thunder and a flash of lightening. How did the weather change so suddenly? It was so pleasant before and now its so dark and threatening. The car began to swerve with the wind, but Shehry got it under control.
"Home is very far away from here. Its dangerous." I looked around.
"Is there anything else close to here?" He looked at me in question.
"Rehan's office." Plus, I can give him the good news, that his wife now has something else to do other than annoy him." I nodded and said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot he works close by. Should we go?" He asked.
"Let's go" I said with a nod.
I felt something in my stomach. A gut-wrenching feeling.
I felt like something was going to happen. Something bad. I saw another lightning streak, with winds sending leaves in all directions. I stiffened
"ALLAH, please don't let anything bad happen. Please keep us all safe, YA ALLAH" I prayed.
"Ameen." Shehry said.
Ameen.

Anyone else tied down by exams? Kitna bura haal kardiya hai ye exams ne mera...kya bataoon..i have one tomorrow, yet Im here updating. But I missed you guys, so...OH YEAH!! I had a huge exam today and THANK ALLAH (SWT) THE RAHMAN UR RAHIM OF ALL THAT I GOT GREAT RESULTS!!! :))))
SO CLIFF-HANGER!!!! MUAHAHA!!!! ;) What do you think will happen next??
