Naomi sat in the living room of her house with a bowl of Ramen on the little table that was on the floor. She was preparing herself for an all-day anime marathon that was sure to keep her at the edge of her seat. She sat on the floor with her legs criss-crossed and prepared herself to sit there for a while. As soon as she turned on the TV, an advertisement came onto the screen. It was for an anime convention that was going to be going on in Tokyo in about a month. Now being the otaku Naomi was, she knew she had to go, since she hadn't actually ever been to one.
She made her way to her Father's office and found him working on some paperwork. Naomi quietly made her way up to his desk and then pulled on his sleeve, getting his attention. Japan looked up from his desk and saw his 9-year old daughter looking at him with a small, excited smile on her face. "Yes Naomi?" Japan asked, wondering what could possible excite her so much.
"Otosan, there's an anime convention coming up next month," Naomi said, trying to hold in her excitement. "And I know you're very busy, but if there is any way we courd go, courd we go to the convention? I've never been to one before." She put her hands together and was practically begging him. "Prease Otosan? Prease?"
Japan scratched his head. He knew he had a lot of work to do and taking time off was something he really didn't want to do, or even consider. He was the type of guy who wanted to get things done as soon as possible, not procrastinate to the last minute. Then again, he felt guilty for not taking Naomi to a convention. He had always intended to take her, but things kept piling up and he just didn't have the luxury to take time off to do something like that. "I do not know, Naomi," Japan said, rubbing the back of his head. "I have a rot of work that needs to get done and taking time off now wourd mean that I wourd farr behind."
Naomi sighed in defeat. "Okay Otosan. I understand that you are busy." Her head lowered in defeat and she began to sulk. "I just thought that it wourd be a good way to spend time together."
The guilt was getting to Japan. He didn't want to let Naomi down but his sense of duty was getting in the way. It was so conflicting. Then he knew what he had to say; "Arr right Naomi. We can go to the convention."
A huge smile came to Naomi's face. She gave Japan a big hug and then thanked him several times. "Arigato! Arigato! Arigato Otosan! Oh, I gotta go put together a costume for a cospray contest!" The excited Japanese girl quickly rushed out of the room and made her way to her room to get to work on cosplay ideas.

A few weeks later, Naomi found herself trying to decide between costumes to wear to the convention. She convinced her Dad to do a costume collaboration with her, but now came the hard part; actually choosing what to do. "Ret's see, which to choose?" she was debating as she looked through different animes/manga/video game/etc.
She look at a Final Fantsy one, but backed out. Then she was interested in a FMA one but knew she would end up being Edward Elric and didn't want to be called short. Of course there was a RWBY one but she was still trying to convince her Dad to watch the first episode. Every idea she had seemed to end up going down the toilet.
To try and get some ideas, Naomi pulled out her I-Pod and listened to a Vocaloid Six. As she listened to Party X Party, realization dawned on her. Of course, that's it! Naomi quickly ran to her Father's office and told Japan what she thought.

The day of the convention was at hand and Naomi and Japan were ready to go in their costumes; Japan was cosplaying as Kaito and Naomi was cosplaying as Hatsune Miku.
Japan had on Kaito's blue and white outfit with the scarf, brown pants, and a blue wig with a microphone on. Naomi had on Miku's grey and black outfit with the skirt, long, black leggings, and a turquoise pigtail wig and a microphone also on.
Naomi giggled as she looked at her outfit in the mirror. She was very excited about going to the convention with her Father. It filled her with such glee that she was finally getting to go to a convention, especially with her Dad. "Are you ready to go Naomi?" Japan asked after getting the car running.
"Hai Otosan," Naomi replied as she got on her shoes and made her way down the stairs. "I'm coming."
She got in the car with her Dad and the two drive to the city, where there were hundreds of people dressed up and heading into the convetion center. Soon, the Father-Daughter duo made their way into the center and were surrounded by hundreds of otakus. Naomi was having a hard time seeing over the people since most of them were rather tall. Japan noticed this and picked Naomi up off of the floor to put her on his shoulders so she could see over the crowd.
They then walked about to enjoy the convention. From time to time, Japan and Naomi would stop at a booth and buy a few items. They would also her some food from the cafe and chat with other fellow otakus. The best part of the day though, in Naomi's opinion, was when the cosplay happened. They waited backstage to be called to the stage like everyone else. Then they were called out on stage; "Now, coming to the stage is Kiku and Naomi Honda, cosplaying as Kaito and Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid." the announcer announced.
Japan took a hold of Naomi's hand and walked out on stage with his daughter. They stopped in the middle of the stage and waved to the audience, who oohed and ahhed.
At the end of it all, Japan and Naomi ended up winning second place, winning a new manga collection and a new video game. As soon as Japan noticed Naomi yawning, he knew it was time to take Naomi home. He carried her to the car and buckled her up before driving. While driving, he glanced over at Naomi and smiled at her. He really had a good time with her and couldn't wait until next year.
