You and Sans were inseparable on the phone since that Monday night. By the time Wednesday came around, you felt like best friends.
"Best friends...but I still want more than that!"
This voice has driven you insane, but you've learned to cope. Even though you gave your best effort to ignore these dreaded thoughts, they still seemed a little truthful. If you were to be quite honest with yourself, you couldn't help but get lost in the words your mind through at you. You even swore there was a hint of familiarity to these feelings, but you had just met the skeleton. It made no sense to you.
That was a question for later. Your phone buzzed, the familiar ringtone of "Life is a Highway" boomed throughout your room, causing you to jump. You looked at the ID and smiled. You answered casually. "Yellow!"
"Yellow to you too, _____! Today is the day, but I think I have something else in mind. Meet me at the park in an hour, and stay near the duck pond. I'll find you!" Sans said. You were eager to see this surprise Sans had in store for you.
"Sounds fun, dude! See ya then!" You say. You hang up and look in your closet.
"Find something a little decent at least!"
"Oh shut up!" You say aloud.
"Just do it! Being a little dolled up is okay, right?"
"Ugh, fine! Whatever!" You say.
You put on a white tank top and then looked through the somewhat dressier side of your closet. You found and put on a white mesh top that flared out at the bottom, the cotton so comfortable as you slipped it on. You spun for the fun of it, watching the shirt spin with you as it resembled a tutu. You got a little dizzy and laughed at your random antics. You picked up a three quarter length sleeved pink floral patterned light jacket and donned the springy article. Then you put on navy blue skinny jeans and faded brown colored boots that rose four inches above your ankle. You donned the outfit, admiring the simple yet beautiful look of yourself in the mirror. You fixed your hair into a comfortable yet semi-elegant style and put on a diamond and silver necklace that was given to you by your grandmother when you were young. Her words rang in your ears.
"Now, ____, wear this for someone very special!" Your grandma said to you. Your ten year old mind rushed to your dad or mom, but as you grew older, you soon realized it meant something else.
"Is it really worth it? I mean, is Sans really that special to me?"
You couldn't shake the feeling that he was that important and special to you. He made you happy, he made you laugh and smile. He made you feel....alive! He made your day every time you so much as heard his name.
"I-I can't believe it! I've fallen for a skeleton!" You say. You finish getting ready and drive over to the park. You smiled as you walked about the peaceful park. The lush green grass and colorful fall leaves filled you with DETERMINATION! You sat by the duck pond, even taking the time to feed what few ducks still remained in the pond. You almost didn't notice when you started humming Elvis's "Can't Help Falling In Love" as you did so. You also couldn't notice how you whispered the lyrics to yourself. Sans snuck up on you, but stopped before he would. He heard your singing as he joined in, startling you. His deep voice resonated in your head, soothing and relaxed. It was like taking a sip from a (favorite flavor) cold medicine when you were sick as a kid. It made you feel better and it's silky texture made that feeling multiply. You both sang along together smiling all the while.
"But I can't help falling in love with you!" You both finish off. It was a sweet moment that caught you slightly off guard, but it made you happy that Sans was so willing to join whatever you were doing. It filled you with....DETERMINATION!
