'And we'll discuss our big dreams/ How we plan/ To take over the planet.'

-Here, Alessia Cara

'So obviously we need a new game plan, because the last one didn't work.' Nathan gave me a look.

'What? I was super stealthy, okay? Not my fault somebody snitched on us.' I shot him a stink eye and folded my arms with a huff.

'Yeah sure.' Nathan scoffed, folding his arms as well. When I didn't reply, he nudged me gently with a worried look on his face.

'You're not really mad, are you?'

'And what if I am?' I angled my body away from him, to show my 'anger' and to keep him from seeing the smile threatening to break out on my face. Hu Li and Elliot were on my other side, and they saw what must've looked like a really constipated face (c'mon, it was really hard and I didn't want to ruin our banter). They immediately caught on and grinned at me, giving each other secret looks when they thought I wasn't looking.

Yeah, keep on being self-centred and lovey-dovey-inside-jokey while my face looks like a contortionist's butt.

We were out on a bathroom break again. This time, there weren't any other guards around because Elliot had earned enough trust to be able to keep an eye on us by himself (something we didn't give him enough credit for really, but let's not dwell on that). He had made sure that the security cameras were frozen on the scene one minute before we came out so that it wouldn't show us standing against the wall and chatting like the best friends that we were.

Because, obviously, we're total BFF's.

Maybe not Nathan though.

If you catch my drift.

'If you're mad, then at least say why.' Nathan's voice sounded like small child's would, wounded and somewhat confused.

Well, too dang bad I never liked children anyway.

'Because you're blaming me for something that clearly wasn't my fault.' I said through gritted teeth. I wasn't clenching my jaw together because I was fuming, though. More because I was trying to not burst out in laughter.

Now my voice was constipated too.

'I'm sorry, really.' I felt a hesitant hand touch my shoulder. 'I didn't mean to make you sad.' The hand travelled to the further side of my waist, where it proceeded to pull me closer until I bumped into a chest.

A very nice...chest.

Like a treasure...chest.

Full of...

Okay, um, no. I chided myself for thinking such dirty thoughts and concentrated on how comfortable it felt to be all cuddled up to Nathan. He was a nice height for hugging too. I was pretty tall, but he was taller, meaning his chin would rest on the top of my head without a problem whatsoever.

I rested my head against his chest (full of treasure) and felt his heartbeat speed up as I wrapped my arms around him. I decided that I couldn't pretend to be mad at him anymore.

I gave him a squeeze and looked up at him as he looked down at me. Then I reached up and gave him a small peck on his cheek.
