"Hey, Shay, could you pass me some pineapple?"
"Why?" I questioned, tilting my head to the side. I felt fuzzy, so I leant against the counter. "You're making a pizza, I'd like to remind you that."
Joey put down the knife, turning to glare at me. "Shay, just give pizza with pineapples a chance- that's all I'm asking."
"Make your own," I huffed.
"No, you'll eat my pizza with pineapples and all."
"Joey," I whined.
"Shay," he whined back, mocking me. Within a moment I found out my face was covered in flour, and that Joey was staring at me in shock, a hand retreating from my face. All he did was laugh at the look of shock decorating both of our faces. Joey looked between us, before snorting.
I threw a short glare towards Joey before I gave him a mischievous smile, "oh, come here, I wanna kiss you."
"No thanks, just got out of the shower," he laughed, trying to silence it behind his hands.
"No, I insist," I stated, starting to chase him around, and finally caught up to him as his dog blocked the way out of the room.
"Spare me?" he grinned sheepishly, looking at me with his brown eyes that would make me melt.
"I don't think so," I muttered, stepping closer and having him against the wall. He looked down at me, a smile on his face before leaning down and kissing my lip for just a moment, his face now white with flour too.
"Even?"
"Even," I giggled, before kissing his cheek.
"Now you owe me," he made a face.
"How should I pay?" I questioned, peering up at him. His hands came to rest on my waist as he sent a devious smirk towards me.
"Eat pizza with pineapples."
Our conversation was cut short as an "oof" sound escaped me, and I blinked, finding myself on the floor. I sat up, looking around me, realizing I was at Bobby's home- my new home.
"Oh," I mumbled, looking down at my lap, wondering where did the drop of water arrived from. We hadn't shared a single moment of happiness here- it felt weird, almost as though I was redeemed.
"Shay?" a voice interrupted my thinking, and I found my mom entering my room. "Are you alright, honey?"
"Yeah," I nodded with a smile, "I just had a dream."
"A bad one?" she questioned, walking closer to me and sitting on my bed. I looked up to her before shaking my head and standing up, also occupying a spot on my bed.
"A good one."
"Then why are you crying?" she asked, a hand on top of mine. I looked at her, blinking. My free hand trailed over my cheeks and I found the warm liquid. With this realization came a sob, and I buried my head in my mother's chest, crying to her.
She rubbed my back comfortingly, not asking. My guess is that she understood why I was crying. She didn't make any promises, I was thankful. There wouldn't be anyone else, it wouldn't be okay and I wasn't going to get over it.
I knew it by now.
"They say time heals the wounds, don't they?" I questioned, crying freely. "Then how come it still hurts so much? It hurts t- too much, mom, I'm scared." I confessed, clutching my chest. "I feel like... like this isn't normal."
"Oh, honey," she whispered, kissing my forehead. "I miss him too, I can only imagine how much it hurts you. It hurts me that you're hurting, just tell me if I can do anything."
