Chapter 13 ~ Struggles
**Valentines POV**
Fading in and out of consciousness. I had no control over what was happening around me. I couldn't sleep, nor could I stay awake. My body felt like it was thrown into a pit of fire and left to burn. My mouth was dry, and my wrists kept a constant, dull pain.
"Is she.......Oh really?..... That's............. I see....." A voice said. My hearing wasn't clear, and I could only make out some words here and there.
I tried as hard as I could, but no matter what, my eyes remained closed. Giving a frustrated sigh in my head, I try to focus on staying awake rather than looking awake.
".......Do you think she'll make it? I sucked the venom out as quickly as possible. They were only there for no more than 2 minutes, so it couldn't have done too much damage.. right?" A familiar voice spoke. I believe it was Ryan?
"She's strong. I'm sure there is minor damage, but she can make it." Said an unrecognizable voice. Could it have been the pack doctor?
This is so frustrating! Why can't I just open my damn eyes and talk to everyone! I mentally throw a fit, good thing no one can see. heh.
"Valentine?" I hear my brothers voice from beside me. I pause my little temper tantrum and try to listen to what he's saying.
"I know you probably can't hear me, but you can't stop fighting! You have to make it out ok.." Brandon's voice dropped off into a whisper. I so badly wanted to hug him and tell him I was ok. But, honestly, I don't think I am..
'Valentine?' Lillian said.
'I'm so glad to hear your voice!' I cried. I haven't heard her voice for so long. Maybe she can tell me what's going on.
'Val... I'm trying my best.. it's so hard. I don't think I can cover the bite marks, so you may have scarring.. The venom spread to your heart. Since there were two vampires sucking your blood.. It doesn't look like anything serious, but I will try my best to make sure it doesn't hurt you..' She informed me. Her voice sounded so weak, I felt bad for making her do this. I wish there was some way I could help..
'Lillian, don't strain yourself ok? I'm sure I can handle a little damage.' I told her, encouraging her to hopefully take a break.
'ok... Thanks Val..' She replied a few moments later.
I let her get back to work, while I try to see if anyone is talking.
I heard nothing, except the occasional breathing or whispers from outside the room. I strained my hearing a little to see if anything interesting was happening.
Nothing.
All I could hear was the birds chirping outside, or the footsteps of people. I wonder what everyone was doing? Maybe everyone was watching a movie, or taking a run.. Man I wish I could run without worrying about anyone coming after me.
I need to become stronger. I need to be able to fend off more than one person. I'll have to ask Alpha Derrick or Ryan to train me when I get better.
Suddenly, pain erupt from my chest and I shot up into a sitting position and clenched the part of my shirt that was over my heart. I began to pant heavily, the pain only growing worse.
'L-lillian.. what's going on..' I asked her.
'Valentine! I'm trying so hard! The venom won't stay out!' She yelled, panic from her being sent directly to me.
