Chapter 5

Your p.o.v

The limo stopped.

I looked outside the window and saw a large black and gold school. The front held a large clock that read 6:45.

I looked back inside and find Reiji already making his way out of the limo, with the rest of the vampires walking behind him.

Couldn't they just teleport out?

I look at Yui and with a small smile, she offered me the next spot to leave the limo.

"You are in the same class as Yui, so go with her" Reiji explained. 

I nodded, but continued to look at the big clock. 

This is what high school is? 

"Unless you want a whipping, don't try anything reckless."

'Whipping'

I smirk, "Are you trying to tempt me Reiji~"

I looked up at him, and it was clear he was disgusted by what I said.

I lose eye contact with him and look down, "Sorryyy"

"Excuse me Y/n"

I turn back and find Yui trying to find her way out of the limo, which I seemed to be blocking.

"O-Oh! Sorry Yui" I move away from the doorway and look back to Reiji, "Hey Reiji what if- aaaand he's gone..."

Yui steps out and closes the door, the limo driving off in the process.

"Reiji tells me that we have the same classes. Care to lead the way" I move out and give Yui space for her to lead.

We walk into the school and find other students.

"Are they all superhuman?" I ask Yui, "Oh! Like the X-men or something!?!"

"X-what?"

I give a small smile, "Nevermind. Not important. Anyway Yui, how'd you end up with the vampires? I'm sure you didn't do it willingly...right?"

"Erm-" she lowered her head and voice, "The vampires said I was a sacrifice. A sacrifice from my church..."

"Church?"

She nods and places her hands on her chest, "My father- he- he usually leaves me there while he goes......places"

She said places with such a stretch and disappointed tone.

"Goes places? Meaning you don't know where he goes?"

She nods again, "You?"

I guess it's my turn to share....

"My life isn't too interesting. My parents died at- um- at-um..."

Why is it so hard to say it? You've gotten over it already!

"..they- they died when I was a baby."

Yui gasps, "I'm-I'm so sorry!"

I smiled, "Don't be. it's not as if I knew them"

I did know them.

"So you don't know what happened to them?"

"N-No... I was sent to an orphanage. I ran away when I turned 10."

What's the point of lying? Just tell her the truth.

"You've been alone ever since?" she asks.

I nod, "Mmhmm. After that I was chased by these men. One, in particular, was strange..." the word strange lingered in my mouth, "he chased me down and I got hurt. Hurt to the point where I suddenly awoke in the middle of the woods."
