Chapter 52

Your p.o.v

"Y/n.....Y/n time to wake up" Ruki whispers as he slowly shakes me from side to side. 

I grumble, instantly opening my eyes and seeing that the Mukami's were surrounding my bed. 

"We have 2 minutes until they're done checking the rest of the rooms. As of right now they should be downstairs checking if anyone is in the dining area so let's go"

I stand from the bed and stay behind all of the Mukami's. Ruki of course takes the lead and opens the door. He peaks his head and walks out. 

We all follow and look around. Everything was dark, but since our eyes adjusted to the dark we were able to see just enough to not let us bump into anything. 

That and Ruki made sure that nothing was placed in front of us. We continued to walk until we made it to the other side of the hallway. 

We walk down the stairs until we hear a person coming from the dining room. The lights weren't turned on but the person was holding a flashlight which gave us the feeling that it was a worker. 

I pull on Azusa and open the bathroom door. 

"Everyone in here!"I whisper/yell. 

I enter the bathroom and everyone enters behind me. We close the door and leave the bathroom light off. 

We hear the person start to come up the stairs and the flashlight light hit the bottom of the door. The steps stop and the light pauses. 

Everyone tried to calm their breathing. 

Please leave....

The steps continued and the light left. Ruki put his ear against the door and we waited. 

A few seconds past and no one said anything. It wasn't until Ruki nodded that we knew we were able to get out of the bathroom. 

Ruki slowly opened the door and stepped out. He put his back against the wall and walked down the stairs. 

We all imitated Ruki and I closed the bathroom door behind me. Once we all made it down, we stood beside the door. 

We all knelt down and allowed Ruki to peak outside the window. It seemed no one was there so Ruki opened the door. 

He was the first to go out, then Kou, then Yuma, then Azusa, then me. Ruki walked down the stairs and I closed the entrance door behind me. 

We walked down and we paused. 

"Okay, we're almost done. All we have to do is run to the gates and we'll finally leave this hell". (Ruki)

We all nod and start to run. 

I'm glad the Mukami's came up with this plan to run away. I'm glad their entire past wasn't all bad. Let's hope that everything solves itself once we get on the train.

I turn back to gaze at the orphanage one last time and realize that the door was open.

Why is it open? I made sure I closed it?

"Uhhh..Ruki... I think- I think something's wrong" I say while running and looking back at the open door.

"Just keep running, we can't worry about this right now," he says in between breaths. 

As I continue to look back I see that the workers are starting to leave the orphanage. They all walk down the stairs and run to chase us.

That's when I realize that we've made it past the gates. It'll take them a while to catch us, but as long as we keep running the way we're running now, we'll make it to the train.
