Your p.o.v
I open my eyes. I look around to notice that I'm back in my room.
I hold my head, what happened? How'd I get here? I was exploring the room and.. I called the vampires heartless. Now thinking about it, I kind of sound mean.
Ugh! I shouldn't have said that!
"Are you going to Scarborough fa-..."
I hear someone singing.
I..I know that song. My mom used to sing it to me whenever I couldn't sleep.
I get out of bed and walk to where I hear the singing.
".... Parsley sage, rosemary and thyme"
I hear it, I'm close.
I walk to a door and place my ear against it.
"Remember me, to one who lives there"
I open the door seeing Kanato sitting on a cement railing on a patio. I chime into the song.
"She once was a true love of mine"
Kanato looks at me holding teddy in his arms.
"Tell her to make me a cambric shirt" I stop singing and smile "I love that song! And your voice, it's amazing!"
"How do you know the song Y/n"?
"Oh, my mom used to sing it to me. I couldn't sleep at night, so my mom would sing that song to me. It helped, I did fall asleep."
"If only I had a mom like that Y/n-Chan , but I killed her, burned her alive".
"Oh! Um.. I'm...not sure how to answer that Kanato".
"You don't have to" he looks at the sky, "Isn't it a nice night"?
I look up, "It is"
I walk towards him and sit beside him.
"Oh, Kanato! Look!" I point to a group of stairs "There, the royal constellations of Queen Cassiopeia and King Cepheus, have you ever heard of their story"?
He nods no.
"A long time ago there was a self-absorbed queen named Cassiopeia. She ruled cruelly and was a tyrant to anybody she ruled under. Beside her ruled a fair and mellow king named Cepheus. He would usually not like to be around Cassiopeia due to her huge ego. In fact, you would usually find him spending time with his friends instead of being involved in the royal court. However, despite that King Cepheus did truly love Cassiopeia. He thought she was beautiful and that no matter what her personality was he would always love her. But, one day Cassiopeia's ego caught up to her, when she stated that she was the most beautiful queen in all of Olympus. Unfortunately, Hera heard of this and confronted Cassiopeia and without fear, Cassiopeia stated proudly that she was the most beautiful queen. Hera was enraged, she grabbed her rope, tying Cassiopeia to her throne and launching her into the stars. 'So you think you're so beautiful?' Hera stated 'Now you can show the entire world how beautiful you think you are for all of eternity'. Upon King Cepheus hearing about Cassiopeia's fate, he became heartsick, he couldn't bare spending the rest of his life without his beloved queen, bloated ego and all. So, he went to Zeus and pleaded for him to launch him into the sky. Zeus refused, he didn't want Hera to hold a grudge towards him. Tears flowed from King Cepheus's eyes and Zeus felt pity for his friend. He granted his wish, flinging King Cepheus with pinpoint precision into the stars, landing him right next to his wife. To this night, you can still see them clinging onto each other, more in love than ever".
I look at Kanato and see him staring at the king and queen.
"There are many versions of the story, but the ending is always the same, which makes me appreciated the legend even more"
