Chapter 8

(Demeter's POV)

I wake up to a bright flash of white blinding my eyes.

I groan and sat up from what felt like a bed, a hospital bed to be exact.

There was white everywhere so no surprise.

"What happened?" I wondered aloud, that's when I heard a groan.

"Demeter you're awake!" A voice said in a calm and happy tone.

"Skyler what happened?" I asked her.

She looked down and said "well long story short, we saved Katherine but Kate injured you and Katherine ended up clawing herself thinking it was her fault".

"Oh that's...wait what?! Katherine clawed herself?!" I almost yelled causing Skyler to Shush Me.

I calmed down and whispered fearfully "she really did that?".

Skyler gave me a sad nod and turned away.

"Where is she now?" I said, almost whispered.

"The room next to yours, we can see her when they allow you to leave" Skyler said.

I slightly smiled, then frowned remembering what she told me.

"So, how did I end up here, who is my all great Savior?" I asked.

"Okay buy don't freak, my dad showed up as soon as Katherine killed Kate and err.." she suddenly stopped herself.

"He what?" I asked pushing for more information.

"He gave you the bite...I'm sorry I ruined your life now!" Skyler yelled as she clasped her hands together and bowed her head down in apology.

I fell silent for a moment then smiled and said "thank you for saving me".

"But I'm not the one that.." she sighed and said with a small smile "you're welcome".

I couldn't help but take my thoughts back to my best friend Katherine, how was she?

Skyler suddenly had tears in her eyes, and she looked up at me and said "there's more..."

I gasped at what she had just told me, in fact fainted to be exact.

(Katherine's POV)

"Demeter slow down!" I laughed as I ran after my best friend.

"Try and catch me first!" Demeter yelled back to me.

I felt I couldn't run after her and just fell to the grass while trying to catch a breath.

"Awww you give up too easily!" Demeter pouted.

I just glared at her and she suddenly sang "nobody can drag me down!"

I just dragged her down beside me and she yelped in surprise.

"'Nobody can drag me down' you said" I said as I burst out laughing.

"Shut up!" She playfully smacked my shoulder.

"Alright girls come here!" Yelled my dad, Derek Hale.

"Coming dad!" I yelled back as I got up and pulled up Demeter.

We ran to the house and then I heard a 'surprise!' As I opened the door.

I jumped in surprise, actually I literally fell, and then got up while Demeter laughed at my dramatic fall.

"Happy birthday sis!" Skyler yelled as she ran up to me and hugged me.

I couldn't help bit smile widely at my family as I blew the candles on my cake.

"What'd you wish for?" Mom asked as she started cutting the cake.

"Not telling you" I said as I stuck out my tongue playfully.

They all laughed and started singing to me.

Yup my life was perfect now, nobody is dead and I'm with my family.

What could possibly go wrong?

(Skyler's POV)

I recently left Demeter's room after the nurses checked her from her faint.

I walked to my sister's room and took a deep breath.

Once I walked in I saw her in her hospital bed lying unconscious and moving since 2 days ago.

Its been just two days and I'm already yearning for her to wake up.

I pulled out the nearest chair and set it beside Katherine's bed.

I sat down and sighed looking the figure of my sister, she looked so peaceful.

Then suddenly a smile was spread across her face and I couldn't help but wonder why.

"I miss you so much" I said attempting to talk to her.

"People don't blame you for what happened to Demeter, and she's alive and well. We need you back...I need you back, please wake up" I said not realizing I was already crying.

I heard footsteps then there was a hand on my shoulder.

"I miss her too dear, but crying won't help" I looked up and saw dad smiling sadly at me.

"Dad how can I live like this? I just stood there watching my only sister try to kill herself! Ugh why am I so useless!" I yelled out in frustration.

"you aren't useless Skyler, everyone goes through tough times. Remember your sister is a strong girl, she walked 5 months earlier than she was supposed to, and she always tried harder to stand up, she won't give in. Have faith in her" he said before leaving me alone to my thoughts.

Then there was something missing, like I'm losing myself.

I mentally slapped myself, now I'm being delusional.

I chanted the song my mom used to sing to me when I was worried.

Again I felt weird, like there was someone in here.

Being a crazy werewolf I knew it was bad news.

I looked around but there was nothing except me and a currently unconscious Katherine.

Then I felt something fly by me, something swift and fast.

I couldn't make what it was clear but I knew I was probably seeing things.

Then I heard something whisper weird words to me.

It kept repeating until I heard it clearly before I felt dizzy, like to the limit I might pass out any second now.

"I'm here.."

That's all I heard before I felt worst and passed out letting the darkness reluctantly take over.

"This is just the begging"

Aaand that's chapter 8! What or who is that voice? Was this a good enough cliffhanger? Welp I'm sorry cliffhangers are just so fun XD
