Hey! So the length of this chapter, I just realized, is the basic length of the rest of the chapters for the story.

"Omg! Los Angeles is so hot," I exclaimed taking in the scenery of LAX around us. "I can't believe we're actually here! Now where to. Jake, where do we go?"Looking at Jake I saw him rapidly texting someone on his phone. Walking over I snatched it out of his hands. "Hey!" He protested. "Hay is for horses. Now come on where do we go to?" I asked.
He pulled out a map, and read the first clue. Well the only clue imprinted on the map. 'Where the ground is higher and green, is a sign showing where you are; you can't miss this. Just watch out for all the fangirls roaming the streets.'
"What does that even mean?" I asked puzzled. "The ground is higher? A big sign? What are fangirls?"
"I have a clue," Jake started off. "But I don't know if it's right. There's this sign near by like 45 minutes away its really big and says 'HOLLYWOOD'. For the thing about fangirls I think they're a bunch of girls that like fans."
"Well how do we get to this sign?" I asked. Ignoring the statement about fangirls.
"We call a cab to take us there." He said and so we did. The sign was huge. The letters were 350 feet tall and spread out across it was 45 feet long. Yes I looked it up.
"So where's this man anyways?" I asked looking around at the deserted land surrounding us. "Because for as long as I can see with my eyesight I only see you and the city of Hollywood. Is he in a house?"
"Sebastian Jacobs! Jake White!" Someone called out. Looking around I saw this middle aged man about 10 ft. down from where we were standing. He looked at us for a while, I was trying to contemplate what he was doing before I knew it we were being dragged down the hill toward him. How is he doing that? I thought to myself. I didn't know someone could- AHHHHHH! Before I knew it we were laying down on the ground in front of this man.
"Well now that you're shocked in what you can do," the man said in a low voice. "Get up!"
Getting up quickly I looked over the man, he was tallish brown hair blue eyes. And he was staring at us like we were conjoined twins. "So," he said clapping his hands together. "Let's start on your training. To connect to your powers, meaning using them, you must think about them. Like think to yourself 'Move so and so over here' or 'Make this person do this' basically think of what you want that person to do. And focus. You must stay focused. And stay relaxed. If you're not relaxed it could lead to bad things."
"Okay," I said turning to Jake. "Can I try it out on you? Like I don't know. It won't hurt, I don't think." He looked at me for a few seconds before slowly nodding.
I stared at him for a few moments. Letting the mans words come into my mind 'Stay focused. Stay relaxed.' With that I focused on Jake and let my mind control me. My powers working and thinking I wanted to life him 3 ft. in the air. Before I knew it I heard a "Good Job!" And I looked up seeing Jake in the air with a panicked look in his eyes.
"How do I let him down?" I asked frantically. Scared that if I failed he'd fall.
He looked at me before saying "You think that you want him to go back on the ground" and so I did. And Jake went back on the floor.
"Dude! Seb! That was so cool! I was just like lifted into the air and was hanging there!" He exclaimed while running over and giving me a hug.
"I know!" I exclaimed. "It's so exciting! Now where to next I mean maybe we're going to go to somewhere in-".
"Hold up! Just because you know how to use it doesn't mean you can actually think about defeating a gang boss with that little knowledge. No! You have to be trained so I brought in some backup!" And with that he blew a whistle and at least 5 men came out of thin air.
"ATTACK!" One guy yelled.
And they came at me, while Jake and the man were lifted into the air. Watching from above. Using everything in me I thought of lifting them into the air, and it happened. But where to go? Using my hands to guide them around, which I just learned how to do, I threw them down the hill. But as they were going down they vanished.
"Good job! That was great!" The man yelled. "Now go find your next clue!"
"Oh, yeah what's your name?" I asked. He looked startled by the question.
"Call me Matthew," and with that he left.
Running over to Jake I jumped onto his back demanding he carry me down the hill. "Why are you so heavy?" He complained. I just smirked letting him carry me down. When we got down he put me on the floor before bringing out the map. As soon as I stared at it I saw a little corner glowing before the whole thing glowed. Then the paper showed another clue. 'Where the Earths crust falls in, and water rushes at the bottom of the cave in. This spacious land is hot and dry, it's located in the southern part of this country. This place was formed by weathering erosion.'
"What does that mean?!" Jake exclaimed "I thought the world was flat all around?!"
Not knowing what to do I pulled out my phone before going into the Google app and searching 'Places in the United States where the crust falls in, in the Southern part of the US' Sadly no results showed up.
"Seb," Jake said. "Let's just check into a hotel and call it a night! It's already 5:30 PM" Reluctantly I agreed and we checked into The Hollywood Roosevelt on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles.
Entering the hotel while Jake checked in I went to the restroom. As I was exiting I saw that stand that you usually see, with the pamphlets of different areas in the world. I picked out a few random ones to read over. When I got to the room, I sat on the bed with Jake in his and started reading through the pamphlets.
"Hollywood, Fl- whoa! There's another Hollywood in the US? Wow! That's cool. Dallas, TX; Paris, TN- woah! We should visit there. And lastly The Grand Canyon, AZ. What's that?!"
"It's a canyon in Arizona, it was caused by erosion of water. And is very steep, there's also a river that runs at the bottom of it." Jake said nonchalantly, like he had studied it for weeks.
"Wait, the clue! It's the Grand Canyon!" I exclaimed.
