SEBASTIAN'S POV
Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY 2020
"...the latest report said that a family close
to the edge of Bushwick, closer to the subway that enters Manhattan; was recently attacked. Christine Sanders, the homeowner, claimed to have said there was, on the side of the wall, the words 'This is a warning...'. She also stated in a recent interview 'I didn't realize it until my husband Charles told me!' And now to Rebecca with the-".
"Sebastian Jacobs! What have I told you about listening to the news before school on a day with a big test?!" My mom scolded me, "Please turn it off."
I stared at the screen, hoping that there was a way to turn it off with my mind. But to no avail, it didn't turn off. So reluctantly I walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed the remote before turning the TV off. It was around 6:45 AM and I was heading out to go meet my best friend Jake White at the bus stop on Harman St. "Bye mom!" I called out closing the door behind me.
