Chapter 2

Perrie's POV...

I drove off to the place i haven't set foot in for quite some time now. I know it was wrong of me for doing that, but i've been busy lately.

I pulled into the drive way and parked the car. I walked up the pathway and knocked on the door. I had no idea when she would be here or not. I haven't talked to her in 2 weeks which is a very long time for us.

After a few moments, i heard the door unlock and the doorknob move. I stepped back as the door opened and looked up at the girls face.

"Perrie?! Oh my god! I haven't talked to you in so long!" She exclaimed

"I know, im sorry, Kat. I've just been busy" i reasoned.

"I know hun. I've been watching every week" My long time best friend told me

"Aww thank you" We embraced each other in a hug and she invited me in.

"So what brings you by?" She asked

"Other than the fact i haven't talked to you in a while, i have a problem."

"Talk." She said as she poured me a glass of tea.

I accepted the tea and sat down on the couch next to her.

"Well I kinda like someone.." I trailed off

"Who?"

"Zayn." I admitted.

"Isn't he from..oh what's it called?" Katherine tried remembering the name of the group

"One Direction" I answered

"Yeah that's it..i don't pay much attention to them. Which one is he?"

"He's the one with the dark hair, skin and eyes. He's shorter out of the group but not the shortest" I said

"Ohh that one. He's a cutie." I nodded in agreement. "So what's the problem?"

"Well since the first day i layed eyes on him, i've liked him since. So that was the begining of the xfactor season"

"So about 5 weeks?"

"Yup. Anyways, he didn't really know who i was. I would always whatch him perform and vote every week a million times. But it's like i can never get him out of my head. He's always there. Today Jade finally told me to talk to him. Well when i walked up to him and his band members, they were all being rude and stuff. Zayn didn't really say much but when he did, he was being the rudest." I said. I know i sound like a whiny little girl but it hurt.

It stayed silent for a little bit as a waited for Kat to say something.

"Honey i guess you just gotta talk to him more. Make him get to know you better" She advised me

"I guess but i can't just start up a conversation. He would get the hint that i like him and he would ignore me" I said. I was thinking of the worst possible scenarios

"Just casually slide into one. You'll be fine. Im sure of it"

"Thats what Jade said and it turned out a mess"

"It was your first time talking to the boy. It will get easier as you talk more to him"

"Okay" I said quietly

"But as for right now, you should probably get back home. You need your rest for tomorrow" She told me

"Alright. I'll talk to you soon" I said as we hugged each other infront of the door.

"I'll be watching tomorrow like always, you'll do great!" She said as i walke down the path way.

I was always able to rely on Katherine when i had problems. I was glad to be best friends with her.

I got into my car and looked at the time. 9:30 already. I waved to Kat one more time before i drove back to the flat me and the other 3 girls shared.

~The Next Day~

We arrived at the x factor building and walked in. There was a big crowed already surrounding the door. We got in and headed to dressing. We got put into similar dresses and headed off to make up. Since we were doing the song E.T and it was halloween they did our make up related to that.

By the time we were done, the first person to perform went on. I didn't see Zayn or any of the boys back stage yet. I knew they were here though.

The girls and I were anxiously waiting for our turn when i heard Liams voice. I went to wear i could watch them and sat there till they were done. They got good reviews and went off stage.

The back stage person told us we were up next and we got to the edge of the stage waiting to get in  formation. One Direction went off stage and i locked eyes with Zayn. No one else seemed to notice. When he went back to reality, he looked away quickly and shook his head. Ouch.

As the crew played our weekly x factor video, we got onto the swings and rose above the stage. The music started and we began to sing.

We did the choreography and sang. We sounded pretty good tonight. When we were all done, we got amazing reviews and walked off stage. That was our first time preforming as Little Mix. Before it was Rythmix.

When we walked off stage, it cut to commercial and sat down in our dressing room. When all was done, we got dressed. I wore a pair of sweat pants and a pink crop top. Then we left.

"Hey Perrie" I heard a voice call in back of me. I turned around reluctantly to see who it was. Niall.

"Uhh hi, Niall" I said sort of awkwardly. Why was he saying hi to me?

"Mind if i walk with you?" He asked in his thick Irish accent

"Uh i guess not" I said confused. He seemed to get the hint

"Sorry about yesterday. The boys can be.." He paused to think of a word

"Rude?" I finished for him

"Yeah."

"All i was going to was say good luck. You didn't need to be nasty. And that platypus statement-"

"Yeah i know. Harry didn't mean it like that" He cut me off. I could tell he was lying though.

"You have a good voice. I've watched your girls' performances" He said

"Thanks. You guys are pretty good too" I said. I didn't want to tell them the reason why i watch them so much

"Thanks. It's the Irish charm" He said and winked at me. I laughed at him and playfully elbowed him. There was a break in the conversation as we walked outside. He walked me to my car. Before i stepped in he said:

"Oh. And don't pay attention to Zayn. He's trouble."

Did he know i like him? What if Zayn knows. Oh no. What did he mean by he's trouble? And to not pay attention to him? Now that's impossible.

His comment ran through my head the rest of the night till i finally fell asleep.
