She laid there limp on the ground. There was no sign of life.

"ASSAGGI!" Nile screamed. He grabs her by the shoulders and began to shake her. Her head bobbed as she is shaken violently. "Wake up, Assaggi!" he shouted.

Mesi and Madge watched as Nile shook Assaggi. Both not knowing whether to stop him or not.

Tears fell down Nile's face as he finally stops shaking his wife. The droplets fell and dabbled on Assaggi's face. Not a twitch came to her face as she was touched by the warm, salty tears. Nile leans down and gives Assaggi a soft kiss on the lips. His eyes suddenly widen when he felt a pulse.

"She's alive!" Nile exclaimed.

The emotion on Madge and Mesi's face changed immediately to relief.

Quickly laying Assaggi back down, Nile lays his head on her chest to make sure she was indeed alive. He pushes the fur down to hear better and presses his ear against her chest. The soft, steady beat of her heart was clearly heard. Sighing happily, he sits up and smiles down at Assaggi. "She's even more tougher than I thought." he thought out loud.

"Nile, I need you to go to the Doctor Dziko. I need special herbs." Madge ordered her daughter. She pushes the top half of Assaggi's fur dress down to her hips. Her stomach was bloody but her wound was no longer bleeding. "She said she was stabbed by a bronze dagger. I remember in a lore that bronze can affect skin walkers worse than silver." Madge opens a jar and dips two fingers inside. "She's in a coma that will become deadly if we don't heal her soon." she said in a grave tone. Slowly and softly, she applies the healing ointment on Assaggi's stab wound.

Taking one last look of his unconscious wife, Nile left the hut to find Doctor Dziko.

Dead bodies were being carried to be buried. The dirt was stained with blood and sticks to his feet. Nile's stomach churned at the feel of bloodstained dirt. Now he knew what it felt when Assaggi walked over the bodies of her family. 'I've known Imamu for so long, and he betrayed us in the blink of an eye.' Nile thought angrily.

Surviving villagers stopped to look at Nile. Now that Jomo was dead, Nile or his father would take Jomo's place. Hopefully, his father would take Jomo's place. He didn't want to take responsibility in taking care of the village yet. Not when his wife's life is on the line.

When he reached Doctor Dziko's hut, Nile's nose was assaulted by the smell of blood. He throws the sheet for a door unceremoniously aside and enters.

There were about ten people inside the hut, all baring some type of wound. A young teenage girl was aiding them as best as she could. Nile recognized her as Kamaria, Doctor Dziko's daughter. Scanning the room with his eyes, he finds Doctor Dziko. .

Doctor Dziko was applying medicine to a man with a stab wound in his stomach. There was sweat running down his brow as he tried not to rush but to help his patient.

"Nile!" Kamaria exclaimed when she caught sight of Nile. "What are you doing here?" she asked the obvious. "I need some medicine for Assaggi. Do you have an extra jar of those special herbs?" Nile asked hopefully. Quickly nodding, Kamaria walks to a shelf occupied with jars. She read the labels on the jars and grabs a palm sized jar. Placing the jar in a leather pouch, she seals it up tightly before handing it to Nile. "May God be with you and your wife." she said sincerely.

Giving Kamaria a curt bow with his head, Nile left the hut.

It was like the scene changed completely. The unwounded men were marching through. Some women were marching alongside the men with shotguns in their hands.

Nile grabs one of the marching men's shoulder and asks," What is going on?" Before the man could reply, someone spoke from behind.

"They are rallying their men and women to prepare to attack Imamu's village."

Turning around, Nile was met with a tall black male with a shaved head and scars running across his face. The feral look in his eyes had warning bells set off in Nile's mind. The bulging muscles on his arms were painted with tattoos. Nile never felt so threatened in his life at the nature of the man. And he has fought a tiger with only a knife and his warrior spirit to help him.

"Who are you? You are not from this village." Nile stated with as much might he could muster.

"My name is Kondo. Assaggi's cousin and was Imamu's second in command."

Nile's eyes widened but he growls threateningly. "I don't care that you're related to Assaggi. But being associated with Imamu will send you to the Pits of Hell." he warned.

Almost laughing as if it was a joke said between friends; Kondo looks at Nile dead in the eyes. "I know what I'll get when my time is up. Right now, I need your help." he intended. "What?!" Nile demanded. A bewildered look was on his face. "You expect me to help you?! My wife is in a coma and I must be there for her!" Nile shouted.

Snarling dangerously, Kondo grabs Nile by the shoulders and shook him. "I am of her blood! I understand how you must care for her! Right now, I need you're help to free her family!" Kondo shouted back.

Nile was silent; just stared at the man in front of him.

"If I find out you are lying, I won't hesitate to kill you." Nile threatened before pushing Kondo away.
