Curiosity Harmed the Black Bird. Severus Snape {Complete}

Chapter Nine

I jumped into the cold water causing a big splash to erupt as I sunk lower and lower into the dark lake. I saw a ominous glow sinking lower into the water and I swam towards it cautiously until I realized it was singing.

Come seek us where our voices sound,
We cannot sing above the ground,
And while you're searching ponder this;
We've taken what you'll sorely miss,
An hour long you'll have to look,
And to recover what we took,
But past an hour, the prospect's black,
Too late, it's gone, it won't come back.

My eyes widened and burned as I already figured out the next clue for the tournament and excitement bubbled up inside of me. I snatched up the egg and felt my Lungs give a mighty kick as I was loosing oxygen. I hadn't realized how far I've gone until I swam up unable to see the surface, the father the top seemed to be. But suddenly my body flew up on the ground coughing up the burning salty water that was trapped in my throat I looked up to see who my savior was.

"You idiot!!! Are you trying to kill yourself?! Do you have any clue what is in that water!!," Snape shouted angrily standing up straight. His clothes seemed to be soaked and his shoes were thrown aside along with the egg.

"I-I needed t-the egg," I sputtered thanking Merlin for soft ground. I couldn't let him know about me finding about the clue just yet. I looked at him as innocently as I could while He looked at me like I was stupid but his face softened and all of his emotional walls broke down as he knelt next to me and waved his wand drying both of us quickly.

"Don't go off jumping into a lake when you don't know what's in there or when you're alone unless you are asking to get harmed," He scolded holding out a hand and helped me up. I was speechless as he handed my egg, my head felt whoozy and the next thing I saw was his bewildered face and blackness.

I say up quickly patting around the all to familiar bed of the Hospital wing. Snape was across the room talking to Madam Pomphrey I could only hear part of the conversation. Sitting up quickly, my vision went blurry as I begun to grow dizzy again.

"What do you mean she can't leave? I've gotten potions in my quarters you could never imagine you yourself could brew!" Snape argued his arms crossed tightly on his chest a scowl set on his face as the irritated Medi-witch pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Severus are you questioning my skills? When she wakes up give her this and she will be set to go if it's such a big deal to you! Never has been before!" She hissed and angrily slapped the vial into his palm, then proceeded to storm into her office. It was morning now and the sun peaked just over the mountains and students crossing the grounds from class to class. I looked back from the window to a pair of dark black eyes.

"Woken up have you?," He asked with a smirk as he handed me a uncorked vial. I drank it quickly and felt a pang of energy burst through my body. "Pain relief upgraded a little"

"Thanks," I said quietly putting the vial on the bed table next to me. "I feel like I could run a 5k marathon right now," What surprised me most about his reaction was I saw an little lift on both sides of his mouth as if he was going to smile but stood up instead.

"I take it you were ease dropping in our conversation?" Snape tilted his head towards Madam Pompreys office door.

"How could I not? You were both practically shouting at each other," I said innocently as he crossed his arms once again as I stood up a little wobbly at first but found my balance cracking my back. "How long was I asleep?,"

"About two days," Snape said casually turning on the spot he started to walk towards the door and stopped as soon as he noticed I wasn't following. "Are you coming or not?,"

"Bran-girl has a date with her professor?," Light said flying in through the open window and perching on my shoulder he whistled softly like an innuendo.

"Never!!! Zeusius what in the world have you been reading? Fanfiction?!," I blushed deeply giving him a stern stare that made him take off my shoulder and fly onto Snapes. Light whispered something into his ear and he nodded the raven cooed and left through the window.

"That raven of yours seems to be nothing but trouble. Now hurry up we don't have all day," He ushered me out of the door as I walked quickly but silently next to him having a hard time keeping up. We went deeper and deeper into the castle until we reached a wall I covered my ears for him to say the password but I made out the word- a name, by reading his lips.

"Sit," He demanded pointing to a chair which I gladly sat down in, I looked around, seemingly his living quarters weren't as dark and ominous as his office or classroom. There was much light shown and his couches seemed to be made of dark green leather I looked up at him pointing his wand at me

"What kind of magic do you really hold? I am under the order of Albus Dumbledore to see what you are really cape able of," He said in a rushed tone. I felt a shock go through my body like magic I've never felt before and I had to unleash it....
