I stood up quickly and it felt like somebody else was controlling me. My hands slashed downward a large 'X' in front if me and a large blue shield went around me, what surprised me the most was I didn't even use my wand.
"W-What's happening?!," I cried out my body trembling a feeling of security flowing through my veins.
"She's protecting you," He said in a awed voice he lowered his wand and watched in interest.
"Who is protecting me!!!!," I shouted as my hands began to tingle and the shield dropped but the magic was still pumping through me.
"You're mother. The old magic Zeusius was talking about.. The legends are true," His eyes widened as he picked up a book and flipped multiple pages and began to read. "It says Here 'those who bond the magic blood are the ones who will be eternally protected 'Qui copulationem magicis sanguinem mater filiae sunt qui attrahunt malum' Latin which means..,"
"Who joined the blood of mother and daughter are the ones who attract the evil magic but are protected," I told him looking to the ground. He grabbed my arm and and left his living quarters and we started descending higher again until we reached a stone gargoyle whom guarded the all too familiar Headmasters office.
"Lemon drops," Snape drawled and let me go in first. I walked up the steps leading to a large polished oak door, He knocked three times and walked in guiding me forward.
"Severus! Amortia! What a surprise what do I owe this wonderful pleasure of?," Dumbledore said cheerfully setting down his quill and looking up folding his hands across the desk.
"Do it again Amortia," Snape demanded the way my name rolled off of his tongue was flawless and it made my blood pump. He pointed his wand at me and my body immediately reacted throwing up my arms and making the same shield around me. This time it was much more powerful and a red spark slashed out at Snape and hit him knocking him into the chair.
"Albus..," He said quietly looking stunned, almost literally from the spell, and for once he looked interested in me.
"Severus.. May I talk to young Amortia alone? ," Dumbledore asked politely except there was a hint of demanding in it, we both watched Snape leave.
"Professor... I'm confused," I said lowering myself down Into the chair behind me. The shield had warn off and my body relaxed.
"When I met your mother who happened to be in Slytherin, not dedicated to turning to the Dark Arts as most, no," He smiled sadly up at me "I thought 'She would make a bright and amazing witch one day' and I was right. She passed it to you as well,"
"What are you trying to say sir?," I asked quietly looking him in the eyes.
"Amortia. Your name is based off of Amortentia the most powerful love potion in the world because Your parents both knew love would be your strongest defense," He frowned lightly his blue eyes sparkling "Your mother was a death eater but also a spy who worked as hard as she could to keep her and her family safe.. But love,"
"My mother was a death eater?!," My breath was taken away at the sudden surprise "But she was a spy for somebody else correct? She wasn't loyal to Voldemort or anything?,"
"No her loyalties lay with them. Some say she died trying to fight against Lord Voldemort but I think she is alive, and waiting for the right time to come," He smiles lightly at me and held my hand from across the desk "Before she disappeared on your father and you, she casted a much stronger then the regular bind between the both of you,"
"What bind was that?," Excitement but also fear was bubbling up in my stomach. I couldn't tell if I wanted to know or if I didn't want to know.
"She casted a bind of old magic which the only way to do that is if the child has it in them. And the more the magical blood there is, the stronger the bond is. If she were truly dead, your spell would've been lifted and your old magical blood from along the line would be more noticeable and less contained. In order to wake the bind was to fall in love,"
"Are you trying to say...," Realization hit me. I never hated Snape I've always... Loved him and Dumbledore knew because Snape was the one who opened the spell to the new world and I plan to push that farther away.
"My mother is alive...," I stood up joyously and excitement now brewed in my stomach making sparks jump from my fingers. "Does that mean we can find her?,"
"Soon enough. But first we need to teach you how to control your magic," He replied with a thoughtful smile.
