everyone started exiting the classroom until only me and mr. witsburch was left. he was about to leave until i came to his table.
"sir, about the topic you assigned me to-"
"is there any problem, ms. oliver?"
"no, sir, but i'd like maybe a suggestion on how i'd do this because, maybe you know that i'm striving for class valedictorian and i really want to do well on this project," i muttered.
mr. witsburch stared at me, confused. like he didn't identify my problem.
"i've never had a boyfriend, sir," i confessed.
he fixed himself on his chair. "look, tessa, you always do good in anything i throw at you. i think you can handle this."
"but, sir, i really don't know what kind of presentation i can do with this. i'm not familiar with this topic," i whined.
"if you don't know what love is then ask people and put that on your report," he stood up, "good luck," and went away.
and with that, he gave me the best idea i've had yet.
