(A/N) Hey.
I told you I would update tonight! It's been a while, I know. This is honestly just a filler chapter, but who's complaining?
----------------------------------------She needed a doctor, and fast. Simon wasn't sure how much longer sure had left. He cursed himself for wasting precious time killing Jesse. That lost time could cost Sierra her life.
----------------------------------------Simon scooped up Sierra in his arms, and carried her bridal style through the threshold of the door. He ran as fast as he could without dropping her, not caring about the blood that was seeping onto and staining his shirt. He has one job, which is to keep Sierra safe.
Yes, maybe he had mild feelings for her, but Simon knew to keep those feelings strictly professional.
As soon as he reached his car, he tore off his shirt and tied it around Sierra's shoulder and across her chest. It wasn't perfect, but it was stopping the bleeding dramatically.
"C'mon Sierra. You can make it. Stay with me, love. You can do this, just stay with me."
Simon sped off towards the hospital, not caring about the police car trailing him, it's siren ordering him to pull over. He didn't have time for this.
Simon raced into the parking lot, picked Sierra up from where she lay in the backseat, and ran into the building.
The police officer chased after him, but stopped when he saw the blood. Simon rushed to a nurse, who took one look at Sierra and paged a doctor.
"I'm sorry, sir, but you need to give the girl to me now. I know you don't want to leave her side, but if you don't, she will die. We'll take good care of her, hun. I promise.
Simon reluctantly handed Sierra over the the sympathetic nurse, who immediately started giving orders. If only he hadn't given in to his feelings, then this would have never happened.
"I could have kept her safe" Simon thought to himself.
---
The door to the surgery room, Sierra's room, creaked open. Simon jumped up. He'd passed the time by pacing and staring at the wall. He'd been doing the latter when the doctor walked into the waiting room, a grim expression on her face. Simon's face crumpled. She can't be dead, she just can't be!
"Mr....?" the doctor asked, unsure of what to call Simon.
"White. Mr. White."
"Of course, Mr. White, then."
"How is she? What happened?" Simon demanded answers.
"She's...stable. We were able to remove the bullet, however, they're was a lot of blood loss. She should survive this...but..."
"But what?"
"But, the amount of blood missing from her body caused her to slip into a comatose state. We don't know when she'll wake up. It could be days, weeks, months, or even years."
"She's...she's in a coma? No, she's in a coma! This...this can't be happening! Not to her! Not to Sierra!"
"I'm sorry, sir. It was the best we could do"
