Background

Love sucks. There, I said it. Words couldn't be put into a phrase any simpler than that to describe how I feel about it. I'm no Holden Caulfield, but I stand by my opinion when I say that all those who believe in it are phonies. I personally have never been in love, but i know enough about it by watching and experiencing every broken relationship that my parents have been in. If you haven't already guessed, my parents are divorced and have been for quite some time, and I'm happy to say that I'm not too sad about it. That's life. If two people are not supposed to be together, there's no point in crying about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a negative person. I'm just tired of seeing the media falsely advertise love in movies and television. I'll be 19 next month and I'm pretty content with how life is treating me so far. The reason being that I have never fallen victim to the tragedy that is, love.

Chapter one: Life in Slow Motion

I'm just your average teenage girl. I hang out with my friends, I enjoy the beach, going to concerts and I go to school full time. I'm only in community college but hey, you have to start somewhere right? I appreciate the fairer sex, so guys should just get lost. Although I don't believe in love, I still very much enjoy the company of beautiful women. In fact, there's this girl in my English 101 class that I'd like to get to know more, but before i do that i have to feel her out more to see if she's even into girls. Not to say she won't fall for my charm and exotic looks. I just want to see if she's worth the chase.

My father is African American and my mother is Filipina, so i was born into a pretty good mix of cultures. I inherited my mom's slim and petite frame. Standing at only 5'3" I didn't usually find myself attracted to girls who towered over me because I like to be in control. I can't say it's easy finding what I'm looking for because I'm not very tall, so I was pretty stoked when Sara walked into the classroom.

"Madison Walker.....Madison Walker are you here?" my professor repeated in a very strong Russian accent.

"Yes! Sorry Dr. Vienna. I guess I was a little distracted"

"It's fine. Just please pay attention next time. It's the first week of school, so I want to make sure everyone is here before i add waitlisted students," she replied. I nodded and slouched down in embarrassment. I was too distracted by the beauty that walked into the room.

Hey readers! This is my first story so I'm still trying to get a feel for how I'm going to write things. The first chapter isn't completed so in my next update I'm going to start where I left off. I'd also really appreciate your feedback on how I started things off. Constructive criticism is good criticism! Let me know how you like things so far so I can continue on with my idea!

Oh! On the right is a picture of Madison :)
