He stood outside and coughed to brag her attention.

"Why are you standing outside." She said. "Come in."

"You told me to knock but the door was opened so I couldn't." He said as entered her office.

He walked and stood in front of her desk. "So where are the papers?" He asked.

"There." She replied as she pointed to the couch. "I want them sorted in chronological order please. Next time, look where you are going."

Jacob walked towards the sofa and began sorting the papers out unaware that Connie has been staring at him the whole time.

He likes me! Why? Why would anyone like me? I have been really horrible to him and yet he likes me. But...but he is a nurse! Lower status than me. I want a man with status! Not a mere nurse. How will I find happiness with a nurse! How?

"Mrs Beauchamp." He called out pulling her from her trance. "I have finished them. Is there anything else I need to do before I leave?"

"No, you can go now but be careful next time." She warned.

He left her office and headed to the staff room to collect his coat. Connie too put her pen down, wore her coat and took her bag. She left her office and as she was walking out, Jacob walked out too. They walked towards the entrance, side by side but not uttering a word.

Once she got to her car Jacob smiled at her and said his goodbye.

"See you tomorrow Mrs Beauchamp." He said.

"Good night Staff Nurse Masters." She replied

Jacob got inside of his car and was about to drive off when he saw Connie standing outside of her car. He leafy his and headed towards her.

"Are you okay Mrs Beauchamp?" He asked.

"Yeh." She said. "My car won't start but it's no problem. You go home Staff Nurse Masters."

"Mrs Beauchamp, it's dark out here." He said. "I am not leaving you on your own. I will drop you home."

"It's okay." She replied. "I will get the taxi."

"Not when I am here." He replied.

After much debating, Connie agreed. They got inside Jacob's car and he drove off in her direction.
After 15 minutes of driving, they pulled up at Connie's.

"Here we are." He said as he smiled at her.

"Thank you." She simply replied and got of the car. "Good night." She said and then walked off to her house where she unlocked the door and entered whilst Jacob left feeling much happier than before...
