Five

Jacob woke up earlier than normal. He got ready and decided to text Connie.

"Morning Mrs Beauchamp. Can I pick you up since you don't have a car."

"Morning! That won't be necessary. I will take a taxi."

"Nah I will pick you up. 7:30am."

"It's fine Jacob. I am capable of making my own way."

"7:30! I will wait outside. Xx"

Connie got ready and left the house when she heard Jacob beeping his horn.

"Morning beautiful." He said as she opened the door and got in.

"Mrs Beauchamp." She corrected him. "And Morning Staff Nurse Masters."

The car journey was in silence, but comfortable silence. It was never awkward between them. He kept looking at her every now and then and Connie couldn't help but smile at his behaviour.

"What?" She asked.

"You are so beautiful Connie." He replied in a serious tone.

Connie was glad that they had reached. Without replying, she quickly got off the car saying thank you and rushed off towards the entrance. She couldn't be there with him for another minute. She couldn't. He was starting to break the wall she built up and that was something she didn't want.

She entered her office and closed it before sitting down. Why was he so interested in her she wondered! She couldn't fall for him. It's against her standards.

She worked through the documents she need to fill out and at about 12pm, there was a knock on her door.

"Come in." She said and the door was opened. At that stage, she wished she had refused.

"Staff Nurse Masters." She called. "Do you ever work or do you just come to annoy me."

"So funny boss." He replied.

"Mrs Beauchamp Jacob." She corrected him. "So how can o help you?"

"Well I was going out for lunch but I would be very lonely on my own so I thought I should ask you." He said whilst smiling.

"I thought you never ask twice Jacob." She reminded him.

"Ah, well you are a special case sweet cheeks." She said. "so care to join me?"

Connie thought got a while before looking at him and smiling. "If I agree, will you stop annoying me?" She asked.

"It's a deal." He replied. He walked and took her coat and helped Connie to wear it. "You ready?" He asked and Connie nodded.

They walked out side by side both smiling. Jacob entwined his fingers  with hers hoping she wouldn't pull back and she didn't. She looked at him and smiled. She was beginning to fall for him...a dangerous move for her.

"Connie." Someone called. She turned around and was shocked to see who it was...
