"Mrs Beauchamp, you are needed in resus." Jacob said as he opened her office door.

"Next time knock before you enter." She replied. "And I will be there soon."

Jacob left and closed the door. Connie got up and placed her stethoscope around her neck and walked towards resus.

They had to carry out minor operation to stop the bleed as the waiting time for the theatre was long. At the end of the procedure, Connie lost her balance and nearly fell down from standing for a long time but luckily, Jacob put his hand around her waist, stabilising her.

"Woah , carefully boss." He said.

Connie looked at him and then to where his hand was. "Mrs Beauchamp." She corrected him. " and can you please take your hand away from me. I don't need you protecting me."

He quickly removed his hand from her waist and began removing his gown and the gloves which were covered in blood. He folded then and placed them on the trolley.

Connie stood there unable to untie the strap at the back of the gown. She was struggling to Jacob walked towards her, placed his hands on her back as he untied them.

"What do you think you are doing?" She asked.

"Helping you Mrs Beauchamp." He replied.

"I don't need your help Staff Nurse Masters." She said and then moved away but Jacob had already been successful in opening them. "Don't ever assume I would need help cause i don't."

She walked towards the door and before she left, she turned around and looked at him. "Don't forget, my office at the end of your shift."

Connie was inside her office filling in the paperwork for the current procedure. The door was opened so she could see and hear everything that was happening by nurses station.

Jacob stood there putting a file as he had finished his shift when lofty and Robyn approached him.

"Coming for drinks?" Lofty asked.

"No." He simply said.

"Come on Jacob." Insisted Robyn.

"I would love to but I can't." He replied.

"Why?" They both asked simultaneously.

"I have to go and see Mrs Beauchamp." He said.

"Ouch." Robyn said.

"I know. Good luck." Lofty added.

"Don't worry, she isn't as bad as she makes out to be." He said. "In fact she is the opposite. She is sweet. And vulnerable too. Not to mention beautiful too." He added.

"You like her don't you?"Robyn asked.

"My lips are sealed." He said.

"But you aren't denying it so you have feelings for her." Robyn replied. "That is soo cute."

He just smiled and then walked towards her office unaware that Connie had heard everything...
