Author's note: This is just a regular one shot, not tied to any particular story I have going on already. I had very sudden inspiration for this and needed to write it like now before I lost it within the depths of my mind. This is one of the few one shots that are very angsty that I will write, but please enjoy anyways. love you all. Also, it is very...I guess choppy?? Because it's emotional so it won't read as smoothly as other things I've written, I think.

NOT EDITED IM TOO LAZY AND IT SUCKS SORRY.

Kaneki_coffee, you know where this one shot is inspired from, so NOOOO comments on that haha please. xoxo love you. I bet you can figure it out within the first paragraph or the warning below.

TRIGGER WARNING: This one shot contains mild domestic violence/abuse, heavy alcohol references, and lots of swearing. If you are not comfortable with reading anything like this, please feel free not to read it. I apologize.

"Hey," you had said in a stern voice as you climbed the steps to your apartment slowly. You turned to face your boyfriend with an equally steely gaze and pointed a finger at him. "Don't get drunk."

It was Saturday and the night was relatively young yet. The stars had just barely come out to play, hiding among the tall city buildings surrounding you. But then again, they never were easy to see with all the light pollution here.

Levi nodded. "I'll only be out for a little bit," he said, glancing at his friends. You let your eyes fall onto his co-workers who were all agreeing with him. "Last chance, brat. Sure you don't want to come with us?"

You had just all gone out to eat, celebrating Levi's job promotion. Petra, Oluo, Eld, and Gunther had all come with you, much to your surprise; you had thought it was going to be more of date but you didn't mind the extra company. You were actually quite fond of Levi's co-workers and were happy to share the time with them. However, everyone decided that they had wanted to continue to drink at a nearby bar.

You had opted out.

Drinking was not exactly something you liked; sure, you did not mind a beer or two but you know how these five all liked to drink. Most of the time, you would tag along to keep an eye on Levi but this time, you just wanted to go home and relax.

Admittedly, you hoped that your boyfriend would have gotten the dropped hints that you wanted him to stay in for the night but he either was oblivious or he did not care at all.

"No, it's okay," you had replied, trying to remain as neutral as possible. "I'm...tired."

That was a lie and you knew Levi knew that. He hesitated before turning to his friends. "Go on ahead, I'll meet you there."

"Alright, we'll see ya in a minute!" said Eld breezily. Petra smiled at you before she tailed the other men, leaving you and Levi standing underneath the lights of the apartment building.

Once they were out of sight, Levi climbed the steps so he could kiss you on the forehead gently. "Hey, stop looking like you're ready for a fight."

You averted your eyes to the passing car on the street, unable to find your words.

In truth, you were ready for a fight. Dread was beginning to seep into your veins and worry started clouding your mind. You wondered if maybe you really should go with them to the bar. You truly wanted to believe his words, to trust him but you found it impossible. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you knew that nothing you were saying was getting through to him.
