"Okay we are here!" Zoe says pulling up in front of the Wiltshire wildlife reserve. "What is this?" Alfie says unbuckling his seatbelt and looking out the window With curiosity."this is the Wiltshire wildlife reserve! When I was younger we used to always go here my mum would take a picture of a new thing she saw every time we went here her goal was to get 50 photos but she only got 10 before my parents divorced and then she moved to London. So I'm here to do it for her." Zoe says looking down at the floor of the car "aww Zoe!" I say leaping out the car and hugging her "I will make it my mission to get 50 photos of wildlife for you" "Alfie I love you" she says hugging me back.
As we enter the park we see red roses lining the side of the park and pine trees lined up behind them. It's magical we can hear the birds chirp and the trickling of the stream running through the small but lovely forest. Every so often Zoe stops to take a photo of a robin red breast or a grey squirrel perching on a high up branch of a pine tree. As we get to the end of the path way we see a small log cabin with a menu written on a chalk board outside of it. Zoe takes a picture of that. "Zo lets go get some food I'm starving!" I say wrapping my arm around her. "Sure!" She responds.
When we walk into the log cabin its empty but it's not surprising seeing as it's 8 in the morning and it's the middle of November. We sit down and immediately the extremely bored waiter hands us our menus. "Hey!" He says winking at Zoe. Did he just. No no it's probably just in a friendly way. After we have decided we call him over and we order hot chocolates and croissants. And then he says "ahh good choice it's a shame the hot chocolate isn't as sweet as you!" He says staring at Zoe. "Excuse me." I say standing up. "What did you just say to my girlfriend?" I say walking towards him. "Oh sorry- i didn't know" he says "who the heck do you think I am? Her pet pig named Steve." I say sassily "I'm so-sorry" he says backing away "you better be! Come on zo" I says grabbing her hand and pulling her out the café. "Alfie what the hell was that? He was just being friendly!" Zoe says letting go of my hand. "Sorry Zoe I didn't mean to embarrass you." I say feeling guilty "well you kinda already did" she says walking in front of me quickly. And before no time at all she's disappeared.
"Shit" I mumble under my breath.
