As I flutter my eyes open I hear the voice of Alfie shouting "She is okay! She's okay!" I open my eyes fully and stutter "what happened where am I?"
"Oh Zoe! You're okay!" Alfie says years streaking down his face.
"Yes I'm ok! But where am I" I say impatiently "you're in hospital. You were found on the side of the road with glass in your body" a doctor says. "You're all better now we treated the cuts and stitched them up." The doctor continued.
"But who..who did it?" I say turning on my side. " we are not sure but the police are investigating" the doctor says typing things into his computer. "When will I be able to leave the hospital?" I asked wanting things to get back to normal. " tomorrow morning or evening we have to do some tests with you." The doctor says. "Ok." I say "it's nearly 8:00 our closing time for visitors is 8:00 sir. Now you know that she is fine we would like you to leave so we could do some further tests." The doctor says leading Alfie to the door. "Of course but can I come tomorrow?" Alfie says "sure!" The doctor says "ok Bye Zo. Sorry" Alfie calls to me. "Bye Alf sorry for running."
And then he is gone
And I feel emptier than ever.
As the doctor starts doing tests and jabbing things into me why did Alfie have to leave. I love him.
A tear slips down my cheek
It was my fault he is sad
He is worrying about me.
I'm so stupid.
