" no no noooooooo"
Emma mumbled in her sleep
It had been two weeks staying with ruthies family, and Emma was ready to go home.  Although she wasn't sure what home was anymore.
Every couple of days Sophie Clair would make Emma run down to the house to grab some barbie stuff . But it was kinda empty by now.
Everything had been taken off the wall ,  the bookshelf and TV . The only thing still there was Emma's bed.
There wasn't enough space in ruthies shared room.
But Emma missed her bed more then ever .

To feel more at home Emma was aloud to decorate and move into half the room. Taylor swift posters and quotes filled one wall . The other had flowers and dream catchers.
Even the closest had been split with 1 bar for hanging Emma's dresses and one for hanging ruthies Tshirts.
Emma felt very bad for ruthie , having to share and was very grateful .

Each night they were feed hot meals ,and they played outside.
But unlike at Emma's house there was 1 rule.
Well actually a few rules Emma couldn't tolerate
- no dessert
-no laptops after 6
- wake up at 5 each morning
- make breakfest
- no loud music
But at least she had a friend .

"Emma wake up. It's 5 "
Ruthie whispered
Emma shot out of bed and ran straight to the closest.  Ruthie went to the bathroom.
They had worked out a schedule
Emma has the closest first
Then the bathroom
Then breakfast
Then playing outside until school

Emma carefully choose a pink dress  which was not to fancy and not to casual .
Emma still had twenty minutes before ruthie got out of the bathroom .

"Hmmmm email. Ooooo it's from Lucy"

Dear Em ,
Don't forget.  Today is Valentine's Day   Wear pink.
Love luc

"Oh my gosh. I forgot. It is a holiday"

Emma brushed
her hair into two pigtails and even put on a little  lip gloss

Emma and Ruthie ran to the bus stop just in time for the bus .
Once at school , the girls continued  threw out there normal every day schedule. Except for everyone talking about Emma of course. It had been nearly a week since she had moved in with Ruthie. And today was her first day back at school . Everyone was chatting about there idea of what happened. And there was a ton of makeup work to be completed.
It wasn't exactly a cheerful Valentine's Day .
But it seemed it was a very forgotten holiday. Once you got into middle school , there was no class party's .
Or candy or cupcakes or decorating mail boxes for Valentine's .
There just wasn't time for that .

The day dragged on longer then it should have and Emma had a ton of homework.
As soon as she got home ,Sophie asked to go to the park .
Emma agreed and found a quite little bench near some trees. This has become her favorite spot.  The trees created shade and made it seem like she was all alone. After school the park was always quiet except for a few owners and dogs roaming around.
Sophie Clair usually brought a kite or ride around on her scooter .
Ruthie sometimes came to play football with some of the neighbors .
But this was Emma's place

Yikes. There was a lot ALOT

The girls stayed there for about an hour. Ruthies mom made dinner at exactly 5. And if you weren't there to help. No dinner for you
Running down the block wasn't easy. It was rather windy not to mention her dress flying up .

"Come girls.  We are making meat pies and soup. "

Emma didn't know how this meal went together but she helped anyway .

"Girls go wash up and get to bed "
The whole family seemed accustomed to this strange never ending schedule.
How could anyone do the same exact things at the same exact time every day .

Finally it was Emma's turn in the bathroom .
She stayed in the shower until Ruthie banged on the door .
"Only 20 minutes showers EM , we have to get Sophie in there "

But Emma didn't listen. She didn't like this. Not being able to take long showers or go on her laptop when she wanted to. Not being able to do what ever her heart demanded.
Why did they have to be so strict.
How on earth could people live like this.
Why should she get out of the shower ?

So Emma locked the bathroom door . another rule she was going against
Rule 87#
Never lock any doors incase of an emergency

Emma brushed threw her tangly curls and washed her face. Over and over and over again until everyone else was asleep . Then she started crying .
Emma felt all alone in the world that night. No one to dry her tears. No one to listen.  No more grandmother

"You have got to come out sooner or later.  Emma I have to pee"
Emma rose heard a voice.
It was Ruthie running into the bathroom doing the dance .
After Ruthie was finished she found Emma asleep in the bathtub.

"You know Emma I don't like all these rules either.  Everything is so average.  "
