We open the closet door and tip-toe our way out, still not knowing if they're here anymore. E gives me a look, one I've never seen from him before.

"Sam," he says, "I need to tell you something."

"What? What is it?", I ask.

E takes his jacket off to reveal his left arm is covered in blood. He gently rolls his sleeve up only to show he was bitten. He must've been bitten earlier at the house when we were attacked...

"You lied to me! What's wrong with you?!", I yell.

He looks back up at me, holding on to his hurt arm, "I'm sorry. I didn't want to scare you... I'm scared I'm starting to turn into whatever the hell they are, Sammy. Look at me.."

I begin to cry as I look him in the eyes. Do I even have the right to be angry at him? He was only trying to protect me and keep me calm.

His eyes are bloodshot, and his skin is cold beneath his clothes. He runs his fingers over his head to push the hair out of his face, but even his hair is beginning to come out.

"What do we do..?", I ask as E wipes the tears from my cheeks.

He looks at me and begins to cry. I pull him close to me, holding him tightly and trying to warm his ice cold body.

"I can't let you see me turn into that, I can't be one of them. I can't.", he begins to panic.

I tell him to calm down and to just look at me. "We'll figure something out", I tell him."

E tells me to wait where I am, and not to follow him. He goes back to the room we had hid in. All I hear is a loud thump and E walking back towards me.
