Chapter 24

(Courtney's POV)

Luke and I left the house with Michael. I sat in the passenger seat while Michael was stuck in the back seat.

Most of the car ride was Michael complaining and bickering about me coming along with them when they leave in a couple of weeks after the holidays.

Once we got to Luke's mother's house, the nerves started to kick in. I have met Liz but I haven't met the rest of his family; like his brothers Jack and Ben. Also his father, Andrew will be there. I am so nervous to meet them and it hasn't hit me until now.

"Are you ready?" Luke asked, placing his hand on my thigh.

"Mhm" I nodded, gulping hard.

"Don't worry, they will love you. Just like I do," he grabbed my hand and kissed it gently.

  "You two make me sick!" Michael butted in. He opened the car door and slammed it shut as he exited.

  "Let's go," Luke chuckled.

  Luke hopped out of the car and jogged around to open my door. I grabbed his hand and clung to him as we made our way inside.

  "Calm down. It's going to be okay," Luke told me just as his mother came around the corner.

  "Luke! You brought her!" She ran over and embraced me in a suffocating hug.

  "Love, come meet the family! They have been dying to meet you since I told them!" She linked arms with me and led me outside. I looked behind me to see Luke laughing, traveled close behind.

  Liz led me to the back yard where the whole family was eating and dancing. The music was so loud you could hear it from inside.

  "Andrew! Round up the boys and their girls! This is Courtney!" She yelled from the patio deck.

  Soon, four guys and two girls came flooding up the stairs to the deck. "You must be the young lady my son won't shut up about! I am Andrew, Luke's father!"

  "You really don't know how to keep things to yourself do you, dad?" Luke came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

  "Well you do talk about her all the time, it is only fair to tell her good things we have heard," he responded.

  "Courtney, this is Jack," Luke pointed to the taller man with a growing beard, " and this is Ben," this one was shorted than Luke and Andrew but looked older.

  "I-it's n-nice to m-meet you," I stuttered.

I extended my hand for them to shake it. They shook it gladly. "And their girlfriends, Sarah and Lainey," Luke pointed to two, evenly tanned, beautiful woman.

"Hi..." I looked at them with shy eyes.

"It is nice to meet you too. Don't be afraid, we aren't going to bite you. We know, I think, a little too much about you from not even had met you yet, so you don't have to be shy," Jack said.

"Oh?" I looked at Luke, "What all have you told them about me?"

  "Well...," Luke rubbed the back of his neck in a sort of nervous habit.

  "Everything that he knows," Ben intervened.

  "E-everything?" I gulped.

  Could he have possibly told them everything? Every bad thing too? Like when Sam was the way he was and maybe the one night when he saved me from getting rapped, even though I did anyway. If only Luke had been in England, with me, he would have saved me again. Luke is my super hero but when he isn't there, I feel like I am useless and powerless. Like I can't do anything.

  "Not everything. Just the good things," Luke whispered in my ear as he squeezed tighter around my waist.

  I sighed in relief and leaned back onto Luke.

  The rest of the day was me meeting the rest of Luke's family. His cousins were adorable and Luke looked adorable with them. He is so good with children it made my heart flutter.

  His family is amazing. I just wish he would come see them more because they seem to really miss him. And when we left I could see their smiles fade.

I am sorry this update too so long but you guys don't seem to be showing that you want more. So thank you to the ones who keep up with every chapter. It means a lot to me. I am also sorry about any spelling or grammatical errors.
