Riley's POV

After that day at Mason's house it was undeniable that Mason and I could no longer remain friends. Which brings us today and is also the reason as to why Bailey and I are currently pigging out on junk food on my bed that would no doubt cause a flurry of acne to flourish all over our faces. Here's the thing that really bothers me about junk food, whenever I eat it everyone else can tell that I had binged on Cheetos by the state of my skin. "Bailey as much as I wish we could ignore our problems and get diabetes from all these gummy bears, we seriously need to get it together and think of how I'm going to make a move on Mason!"I exclaimed agitated with her lack of response. Bailey continued to ignore and instead chose to stare at the handsome face of Jensen Ackles that was splayed across my laptop. Desperate times called for desperate measures and this was the most desperate I had been all week not counting the day I wanted to inhale Connor's chocolate bar and he was holding it out of my reach.

I inconspicuously reached for my pillow and with a tight grasp on it, I lifted it high in the air and before Bailey could even react it had slammed into her face. Bailey began to struggle which resulted me in hitting her a few more times before I flopped down on to the bed next to her, tired from putting all that pressure into the hits. She began to splutter and that was a sure fire sign of her anger and I knew that if I didn't want my parents to find the strangled corpse of their one and only child then I had to appease my murderous best friend who seemed like she could go on a rampage any second now. "Sorry Bails, but I really need your help!" I smiled sheepishly. I think she could see the longing in my eyes and so she immediately launched into planning "The great Rason matchmaking extravaganza". Her words not mine. "Do you think your parents will care if we have a few visitors ?" Bailey gasped mischievously. Boy was I in for it big time.

"Bailey when you said a few visitors I thought you meant a party, you inviting your boyfriend and Mason was NOT what I had in mind!" I shrieked disbelievingly. "How are we going to clean up all the mess that we made and get ready in under twenty minutes!" I questioned outraged. Now you might think that I was overreacting, but if you were looking at my house through my eyes you would understand my major concerns. There was cotton candy stuck to the living room curtains, which by the way I don't even know how we got since there isn't cotton candy machine within a twenty mile radius of us, Bailey had spilt coke onto my pillows and papers littered the floor of every single room since we made the smart decision to write a book. Let's just say Bailey and I are not cut out to be writers. AT ALL. Bailey had begun tackling the cotton candy on my curtains, whilst I raced to my bed to change the sheets that had coke stubbornly clinging to them.

My heart was pounding and not because Mason was only a few minutes away. No it was because of the rate at which I had picked up balls of paper of the floor and changed into to an outfit that did not comprise of pyjamas. Don't even get me started on the trauma my hair had faced when Bailey thought it would be funny to stick fairy floss (cotton candy) in my hair to prank me and get me to loosen up. Yeah it did quite the opposite. Not only was I a raging mess, but I was so close to hitting Bailey with my mom's favourite oak chairs. Yeah, I guess you could say the past half an hour had been eventful to say the least. A gruff pounding on the door caused me to jump up and race to the door. When I opened it, Connor was fluffing Mason's hair, ensuring it looked perfect and Mason was rubbing a finger on his teeth to makes sure no food was stuck in it. All in all, it was a pretty amusing sight. Mason saw me first and he smacked away Connor's hand before turning a scarlet shade and hugging me. I guffawed and then proceeded to hug Connor.

I feel like it is mandatory for every group of friends to get pizza when they all gather somewhere. When you don't it's like your friendship isn't sacred because nothing else says friendship like two boxes of greasy cheese on bread. With that thought in mind, I impatiently waited for the pizza to arrive whilst pretending that I actually knew what was going on in the movie that we were watching. From what I had gathered it was a movie about a man who sets out to find the murderers of his wife. I was so hyper aware of Mason's arm as it hung over my shoulders not doing much, just laying there. I looked to my right at Bailey and Connor, she was laughing at something he had whispered and he was grinning at her reaction. Their legs tangled together on the grey couch that lay at the side of my living room. If only Mason and I could have it that easy. It was as if Mason had thought of the same thing because all of a sudden his arm tightened and he pulled me into his side. I stopped breathing whilst he tugged me all over the place. He looked into my eyes, daring me to move away, but I was perfectly content with where I was. If not a little nervous. The movie was boring and Mason's close proximity left me unable to think about anything else which is why when the bell rang, I was the first to bound to the door.

A smile grew on my face in anticipation of the fast food that lay behind my door and in my eagerness to fill the black hole that was my stomach, I forgot to check through the peep-hole. My hair flew with the wind drafting towards my house through the now open door. I gulped at the sight of my mother's favourite heels and my dad's briefcase. I slowly moved my eyes up to their faces, my mom looked furious whilst my dad seemed to tired to care. "Riley Howell who's car is parked on our driveway?" My mom exclaimed. See the thing with my mom is that she doesn't like to be disobeyed and me inviting over friends that aren't Bailey is an act of disobedience. Yup, I was in for it. My mom stalked into the living room where she could hear the tv playing, my dad and I had no other choice but to follow her.

I hugged Mason, Connor and Bailey goodbye, whispering an apology in each of their ears for my mother's behaviour. They gave me a sad smile and left soon after they had witnessed the beast that is my mom when she gets angry. But for the life of me I didn't understand why her rage was to such an extent, I had asked her prior to inviting them over, granted she didn't know the gender of the other people I was inviting, but something had pissed her off big time and it wasn't me. I could see her glaring worriedly at the retreating backs of my friends, it was if she wished they would just disappear from her sight. But she had never had an issue with them before. Too exhausted to deal with her tantrums, I grabbed the pizza box that had arrived whilst my friends were being kicked out, and made my way to my bedroom. Ready to forget all about my day and pig out some more.
