Chapter 2: The First Date

Hello everyone who is still reading this story.  Hopefully it is becoming less awkward, but Miimiie__ mentioned that I should continue to write this in 3rd person because it is my strong point!  I will attempt to update at least once a week with 1500-2500 words each time! Enjoy

Alyssa watched the small dashes fade past her as she drove to her home from the wedding.  She imagined her life without Helena and it just did not seem real at all.  She questioned if she could function without someone close to her.  With no family and no friends where she lives she sometimes feels lonely and slightly betrayed that every single one of her friends had moved away.  Alyssa was fond of having someone in her life at all times. When her parents passed she did not want to accept the fact that she would be living alone and only have visitors who stopped by to give condolences. She began to come back to her senses when she was honked at because they red light had turned green. She increased acceleration and concentrated on the road on the way home. When she arrived home she immediately made her way to her fridge and pulled out some leftover spaghetti. Her favorite dish. She also added her own touch, some lemon juice because she believed it balanced out the spicy Italian sausage she used. While eating she sat on the sofa and watched Forensic Files. A show she watched to help tend to her desire to be a detective, but deep down inside she knows she could not perform a career so heart breaking.

After she finished her meal she sipped on white wine to calm her nerves. She found herself thinking of the man she met tonight and how charming he was. She felt her phone vibrate and saw a message from an unknown number. It said;

-goodnight beautiful. I hope to see you soon!

She replied saying;

-goodnight and you will see me for our date!

Alyssa rose from the couch and glanced at the wine glass in her hand now empty, unaware she had finished it she gave a small smirk. Alyssa washed her few dishes and headed upstairs to her bedroom. She walked straight into the bathroom and slowly finished her nighttime routine and made her way to her room. She put on some comfortable underwear and threw on an oversized t-shirt. Before long she had fallen into a deep sleep.

The morning had come too early for Alyssa, yet she still got up and thanked God for seeing another bright and beautiful day. While going downstairs and listening to her morning scripture she made herself some breakfast, eggs, waffles, bacon, and a cup of orange juice.

Basically the only thing she could finish before work. Alyssa works at a rehabilitation center near her home. She always walks because it is so close and then she can always get a workout every day she does go to work. After she finished breakfast she went back upstairs and finished getting ready for work. For her outfit she chose a black knee length pencil skirt paired with a red blouse and nude suede heels. For her makeup it was simple yet sophisticated and she never wore jewelry, just her preference. While she walks to work she wears some comfortable walking shoes and carries a larger tote bag to change her shoes when she arrives later. 

While walking Alyssa noticed a black car that had been at every corner as she made turns and waited at walk signals. She could not see anyone in the car, but when she was just about to enter the building she heard a familiar strong and stern voice. It was Justin.

"Hey! I just was about to call you, but I wanted to talk in person instead." He says smiling and gently grabbing her hand to get her attention.

"Yes. Oh what did you need? I am running a little late." She lied. Her nerves were getting the best of her around this man and she couldn't figure out why.
