Once An Idiot. Always An Idiot

I woke up to the sound of heavy rain. When I say heavy rain I mean a freaking storm. It swirled out of nowhere and decided to knock on my window, spoiling my beauty sleep. I mean, seriously nature has some majors issues and it was ruthlessly playing with us as we already were suffering and and we're barely alive.

I shook my head a number of times and rubbed my eyes, but they still remained blur. The slight migraine triggered my temples. Groaning I got out of bed , tripping forward as usual, and found a very odd person staring back at me through the mirror. His hair was unkept and messy and his eyes were wild. Worst of all he wore a tuxedo. Now where did the tuxedo come from, I didn't know. Whips of memories tried to link itself in my mind. In short, I felt like a helpless Cadence.

I let the water run as I splashed water on my face. Holding the sides of the basin I closed my eyes. A familiar body laying on the kitchen floor with its neck slit, flashed in my mind. I was sick of it. The blood, the stale smell do the dead made me want to leave this world. What ever we did just bounced back at us knowingly or unknowingly. Karma was a bitch.

I walked down the stairs; the tiles were icy cold. The dull grey sky blinded my eyes as I searched  for the sun, but not even a ray was in sight.
Just as I reached the last stair, they came in. For a moment my mind went blank. Cadence was unconscious ( That girl..) and her legs, sorry I should correct myself - leg, was bleeding. I needed a cigarette.

"What the bloody hell is happening here?" I shouted.
Nathan continued to tie Cadence's bandage.
"That would be an understatement", he said
looking up, his eyes watery blue, turned into confusion.

"Why are you wearing.."

" Not a word about the outfit", I said to him pointedly and looked at her leg

"She..she cut it?"I asked him. He nodded.

"I told her not to but she did it! " he whispered but more to himself than me.

I studied Cadence's tired face. Maybe I underestimated her too much. She was more than I expected her to be, and deep in my heart I could feel a small voice telling me to learn from her, telling me I was weak. I was weak. The word strong was never taught or printed in my dictionary. I felt grateful allowing these two in my life. I didn't allow them, they came unwillingly. To help me. To build me

We argued on a cup of coffee.

" We can't stay here anymore. I'll be sick. There are so many things happening outside while we hide our asses inside these four walls?".

Cadence glared at both of us, daring us to argue.
Looking at her face made me want to shrink inside me imaginary shell.

" What about your leg?", Nathan asked , his eyebrows knit in concern as his eyes fell upon her cut stump.

I shifted  my eyes to the stump, my coffee swirling in my stomach threatening to jump out.

" I'll use a stick or something Nathan", she said defiantly.

"It doesn't hurt"she added in a small voice.

He sat back and looked out of the window. I
could almost  hear the gears turn in his head as he thought of a plan. A plan forming in his head.

" A map!"

They looked at my with confusion.

"The Abandoned  Factory, why don't we go there", I said grinning widely.
