Zombie fact
In case of a zombie outbreak, generic weapons are preferred to custom ammunition or rarer forms of ammunition.
--------------------Light entered through the slits of my eyes as I blinked. The sun was rising. I squinted and got up crying out in pain as my leg moved a painful inch. Frost's grey t shirt was damp with blood.
I stretched myself and pulled myself up with the support of the walls. "Idiot " I muttered looking at my leg which was now just a heap of unravelling bandages and dirty cotton . I noticed the greenish tinge spreading around my left leg. It felt like a big and heavy sack dropped in my stomach when I realized I didn't have much time to survive anyway. I am going to become a freak. And eat brains. But after what I saw back there I think I gained some knowledge that zombies not only eat brains. I massaged my temples and closed my eyes to push back the nauseous sensation spreading through my chest.
I diverted myself to the surroundings and scanned the room. There wasn't much to scan actually, it was just that cupboard with a few syringes.,and there was a spanner and some bandages. I grabbed the spanner, and a few extra bandages for my leg.
We then worked out how we could get out because there was no way we were going back out there. Nathan had given me a small peck on the cheek," Be back in a minute".
And he disappeared out of the window.
I started counting.
Mississippi 1, Mississippi 2.
No sooner did I reach 45 when his head popped in, grinning wildly." All clear".
I pushed my self using my upper body strength and held on slowly lifting my legs up. I was surprised with the strength I had , since the only thing I had was 2 pieces of bread. Maybe it was because I was changing. I wasn't my self anymore. I was a zombie.
The sun hit my face. Every thing was warm and nice. The slight breeze tangled through my hair. The bushes were green and enriching. And the roads were so clean and bare. Ah.. It was good to be home, outside that horrible conjusted hospital. But so much of change had happened during a month and my eyes just noticed them. There were no people walking down the streets. No children running around in their backyards playing tag . No teenagers , joggers or old ladys walking their tiny dogs.
Everything was dead silent. The pavements were bathed red. Dead corpses lay with all their innards removed. The grass didn't seem green anymore.
Everything seemed like a terrible horror movie that I would have seen with Nathan , curled up on a sofa with a box of popcorn. No,this was reality.
There weren't any zombies around but I felt it wouldn't take long for them to get attracted to my leg.
Nathan squeezed my arm which forced me to move.
" Things will never be the same again, right?" I asked as I stared at a blue pram standing alone on the side walk dripping with blood from underneath.
"We will. " he looked at me , those grey eyes serious. He leaned in and kissed me, his tongue slightly grazing my lower lip.
" I will make sure we will, I promise".
Don't make promises you can't keep, I thought and smiled, giving him the slightest nod.
