I dreamt of an ocean blue . Underwater me and you. Let's not swim to shore, just float forever more.~ Clem Snide
"Please?" I begged my mom for the second time.
"Henderson, I don't know. That's five days without me. What if something happens? What if your inhaler runs out of juice? What if you have an anxiety attack? What if you lose your pills? What if you need me?" She rhetorically questioned, fast and worried.
"Ethan, Gerard, and Miriam will be there and I'm seventeen years old. I mean what do you expect me to do next year when I graduate? Stay here and live with you forever?" I asked quietly, afraid of making her sad.
"Yes." She emphasized the "a" at the end of yes, making is sound like she said yessAA.
"Mom..." I raised my eyebrow.
"Alright you can go." She sighed.
Then I kissed her on the cheek, and started to jump around, "Thank you!" I yelled, my throat killing me afterward, "Don't forget about Lovely! I left a paper of instructions for you!" Giving away I knew she would say yes in the first place. Then I sprinted all the way to Ethan's and swung the door open, forgetting to knock.
"Ethan!" I shouted, again regretting it right away.
She ran down the steps and jumped into my arms, "I heard! Your mom just called!" She kissed my face all over.
You're probably wondering what in the world is going on. Well, Gerard turned in his film to this guy. This big film guy that a bunch of other people turned their videos into. And Gerard made it to the east coast finals. Which means we get to travel to South Carolina for five days. We're driving so it'll be a while, but it should be cool. My first vacation.
Since we were leaving tomorrow, Ethan began replacing the binders in her back pack with clothes. She also threw in some other things like books, personal hygiene products, ear buds, and more books.
We then began to walk to my house, so that I can pack.
"You know, it's going to be funny seeing ourselves on a big screen." Ethan started after a long silence.
Ethan was right, I'd just came to the realization that I and a lot of people in a big room will be seeing Gerard's film. That's crazy. Ethan saw surprise written all over my face, "Are you alright?" She asked.
And just to mess with her, I breathed, "No. No. I never thought about it. We-We h-have to get the-the-the tape back from Gerard. No way!"
"Henderson, calm down. It's alright."
"I know." I teased.
"Oh you little poop." She growled, punching my arm.
When we made it to my house Ethan gave my mom a huge hug, "I appreciate you letting Hen come. I hope this isn't too hard for you."
She nodded, a sad smile on her face. Yeah, it was very hard for her.
Ethan came up to my bedroom and we packed up some clothes along with my tooth brush, tooth paste, comb, shampoo, soap, medicine, books, and CDs (for the ride of course).
But I kept one out because Ethan brought over her CD player and has been wanting to listen to Sublime's Secondhand Smoke album with me. So we did. Right when the Uptown Dub began to play Ethan held her right hand up to her ear, and had her prominent hand act as if it were spinning a record. Her knees followed by bouncing up and down. She looked pretty silly, so I mimicked her action just to show her.
She then remarked between giggles, "Well, it looks dumb when you do it."
I just laughed, then showed her my signature move that I started when I was like four. I liked to call it "The Henderson". I let my arms completely loose then ran in place; causing them to flail around crazily.
