Make a wish and pray it sticks. So I can shut my eyes 'cause it feels like weeks since I last slept. So please turn out the light.~ The Brobecks

"Henderson!" screeched Bernice, "Did anyone happen to call for me?"

"Uh," I started looking through the home phone's recents, "yeah."

"Who?"

"Julian Parker." From gym class earlier today.

"HoLy sHiT!!!" She screamed running out from our tiny kitchen.

My mom also came running, out of the bathroom though, a towel wrapped around her body, "Are you guys okay?"

"Yes!" Replied Bernice, still freaking out.

"Please, don't scare me like that again." She breathed heavily, "Hen, if you need anything at all, make sure to tell me or your sister, okay?"

I nodded.

I'm guessing Bernice has a date tonight. I mean I wouldn't doubt it, she's a very pretty girl. Her blonde hair always straight, her skin clear of blemishes, and her weight is at it's ideal average size. I do find it a bit strange that she's dating a high schooler.

"Play the message for me?" Bernice requested.

I hit the start button.

Hey Bernice! It's Julian, I was wondering instead of having dinner at my place tonight, if we could go to your's. My parents aren't available tonight. Sorry about the late notice. Call me back if that's okay. See you later!

Bernice came stomping in, "Did he just ask about coming here?"

I nodded.

"This is so embarrassing! A motel...what a great first impression! Mom! Julian wants to come here for dinner tonight!"

"Okay!" shouted my mother, "I'll set up the eating table, and we'll buy a fancy table cloth."

After her and mom had their talk, Bernice called Julian and put him on speaker phone.

J: Hey!

B: Hi.

J: Is everything okay?

B: Yeah, yeah it's just that...

J: What is it?

B: I-I...I'm sorry for keeping secrets...but I live in a super tiny, ugly motel and I'm not sure if you should come here toni...

J: Don't be sorry, I'm not going out with you because of where you live. No worries.

B: You're so sweet! Thank you so much for understanding!

J: You're always welcome.

B: Well, goodbye!

J: Bye!

That was sweet...why couldn't he be that personable during dodgeball today? I also have another question, why do ladies on television always fall for "bad boys", when in the end the "sweet" boy always ends up with the girl, or at least for longer.

When mom was done her shower, and my sister was done getting ready (that took approximately one hour and thirty-six minutes) we were out to purchase a table cloth. Today, my mom decided, instead of anticipating the bus, that we should just walk. I mean Target is only two miles away.

"How was school, honey?" My mother asked.

Usually I don't respond, or merely shrug, but today I decided to answer, "Well, there's this new kid. They sat next to me on the bus, a-and talked to me. Ethan."
