Julia was at her house, getting ready for her sister's funeral. Regan and Luke were going with her. Regan was in the kitchen making a snack for them before they left. Julia went into her room to change. Luke walked in to find Julia sobbing. Luke shut the door and quickly ran over to Julia, who was sitting on the edge of the bed. Luke ran over and sat down beside her. He put one arm around Julia before she turned to Luke and cried into his shoulder. Luke didn't know what else to do other than hold her. Julia stopped crying and gave Luke a kiss on the cheek.
"I love you." She said. Luke smiled.
"I love you too." He said back. "How about you put on your clothes now." Luke suggested. Julia nodded her head and tried not to cry again. Julia had a black dress hanging in her closet. Luke stood up and brought it to her.
"Delaney bought me that dress." Julia said, trying to smile instead of cry. "She said it looked so pretty on me."
"Of course it did." Luke reassured, "you are so beautiful." Luke said as he kissed Julia. Julia took the dress off the hanger and Luke helped her it on. Julia looked at herself in the mirror with Luke behind her.
"See," he said. "I told you that you were beautiful." Julia giggled and turned around, hugging him. Luke grabbed Julia's hand and pulled her into the kitchen just as Regan pulled some muffins out of the oven. They sat at the table to eat their muffins.
--after the funeral--
Julia sat on her bed, with Regan to her right and Luke to her left.
"I just can't believe that she's really gone." Julia said through sobs.
"I know, sweetie." Luke said sympathetically.
"And we will all miss her so much." Regan added. Julia leaned over to hug Regan.
"So what, I don't get a hug?" Luke said sarcastically. Julia and Regan laughed.
"Of course you do." Julia said as he leaned over and hugged Luke. "I love you so so much." Julia whispered into Luke's ear.
"I love you more." He whispered back.
