Chapter 4- They have a personal life
.
I arrive at the cafe after being chased by Vincent. I had finally gotten to my car and left hopefully he didn't follow me.
I suddenly feel like I'm being watched so I look around but see no one I know.
I shrug and turn to see Sawyer walk inside looking amazingly gorgeous. He's in a business suit and his hair looks messy. He must work at a fancy business because the look is good for him. I smile waving towards him and he spots me and smiles back.
"Hey sorry I took so long, I was on the phone with Vincent." He says and I stop myself from asking what about.
"Oh your brother?" I ask playing dumb.
"Yeah he was talking about some girl he really likes, he told me if she went out with anyone but him, he would beat the guy. Well he didn't say beat the guy but I don't want to repeat the colorful things he said he would do." He says and my eyes widen. He knew I'd ask what about, so he made sure he said something like that to his brother.
But he wouldn't beat up his brother.....right?
"Sounds kind of like a jerk." I say and he chuckles.
"I've never heard Vincent so serious about a girl." He says and I start to feel guilty. Is it bad to be here with his brother, Vincent did tell me not to. Suddenly my phone starts ringing so I answer it.
"Hello?" I ask.
"If you don't come out and get in my car ill walk in and tell Sawyer you lied about knowing me." A deep voice says behind the speaker.
"What you lied!" I say a little to loudly and Sawyers eyes furrow. "Oh it's my roommate Jacey." I say and he nods.
"Yeah but I lie all the time so he won't care, but if you lied he would be totally mad. Your suppose to be the helper of a cancer patient." He says and I look out the window of the cafe and see Vincent leaning against a very nice car.
"He can't be like that." I say looking over at Sawyer texting on his phone.
"This girl once lied about seeing her parents when really she went to a movie with her girlfriend, Sawyer dumped her so fast she's still crying." He says and I look back at Sawyer a pout on his face while he looks at the menu and I start to get nervous.
"You wouldn't." I whisper.
"Oh I would." He says standing straighter. "Just come outside." He says. I shake my head and smile over at Sawyer.
"She's having a problem." I say and he nods drinking a coffee he must have ordered. "I'm not coming." I say into the phone and I see him outside sighing deeply.
"You asked for it." He says and starts walking to the door. My eyes widen and I suddenly stand up.
"No!" I say and he stops smiling at me thought the door.
"Uhh is your friend ok?" He asks and I shake my head.
"No she is drunk actually and I need to go get her." I say and he stands. "I'll be there in a minute." I say into the phone and close it. I see Vincent smile and walk back to his car. I sigh and look back at Sawyer sadly.
"I'm so sorry." I say and he smiles.
"It's fine atleast your friend has someone like you." He says and I nod. Wow where has this got me, now I'm double lieing? I step forward and hug him because I feel so bad I asked him to come all the way here and I'm ditching him.
"Straight forward aren't we?" he asks and I laugh.
"No I just feel bad I asked you to come and now I'm leaving." I say and he waves me off.
