The burning pain in my arm was unbearable. Much more painful than the dream. It felt like hot sharp knives were penetrating my skin. I yelped out loud and fell to my knees from this pain. I clutched my left arm with my right and begged for it to stop. I looked up at the Dark Lord as he glared at me with his menacingly red flaming eyes. However, I could tell he expected this reaction from a young girl like me.

I couldn't take it much longer. As I was about to black out, the burning and the agony suddenly stopped. I started to breathe again as I wasn't before because the pain was so stunning. I opened my eyes to look down at my arm and finally saw it. There, actually imprinted on my forearm, was the dark black tattoo of a skull and snake slithering its way out of its mouth. The Dark Mark. My mouth went wide open in shock as the snake started to slither on my arm.

I stroked it with my fingers. It felt as smooth as my skin. It was strikingly...beautiful, in my eyes. I slowly got to my feet and looked up at the Dark Lord once again. This time, he had an evil grin on his face as he watched my reaction to the Dark Mark. The three Malfoys were all staring at the two of us very intently, Draco with a concerned expression trailing on his face. I knew he was still skeptical about this whole thing. So I looked at him with a reassuring smile, letting him know that I was going to be fine.

"Well, there you have it. You have recieved your wish." Voldemort said to me. "Now that you are a Death Eater, we must test your skills of the Dark Arts to make sure that you can do most of the things I heard you can do." I grinned with the same evil face he used before. I knew that I could succeed in these tests. How hard could they be?

"Yes my Lord," I said obediently. He then turned around and made his way over to Lucius.

"Fetch some of your house elves. She will test her powers on them." he ordered to Lucius. He did what he was told and called about four or five small house elves downstairs.

"Now Selena, I trust that you know the three unforgivable curses, correct?" he asked me. The three unforgivable curses? Was he joking? Of course I knew them, but father always told me that I should never use them only if I was in a death-defying situation. I knew I couldn't lie to him so I nodded.

"Excellent. I want you to use them on these house elves."

Oh God. I was going to have to curse these innocent little things? That wasn't right. I shook my head at this command.

"You dare shake your head no at one of my orders? Would you like to suffer one of these curses as a punishment?" he cried in a scary voice. I knew I hade to obey him, or else.

"N--no my Lord, so sorry..yes of course I will use the curses on th--them." I stuttered. I had to do it. I was really scared at this point. So much for being unafraid towards people.

"That's much better. Now, I would like you to first use the Imperious curse on that elf there," he pointed to the really fat one on the left. I walked over to it slowly, with a blank expression on my face and said the curse.

"Imperio!" I cried, and I sent the elf flying in the air, ushering my wand in different directions so it could hover around in those directions. I twisted my wand so it would start flipping in the air, then slowly brought it back down. I smiled at my success.

"That was...exceptional. Could you make it fall out the window instead? That would be more amusing to me." I looked at him in shock. He wanted me to send the elf falling to its death? Why would he want to do that to something so innocent?

"Why do I have to do that?" he scowled at this remark.

"Why not? It's just a useless house elf. There are plenty more in the world we could have." I just nodded at this and said the Imperious curse again, pointing my wand towards the open window, sending the elf plunging to the earth beneath. I had killed it. I small tear escaped my face.
