"Where are we going?" Skye asked "You'll see" he said. They drove a few minutes before Ward stopped in front of a McDonalds
"We're here"
"What?! Seriously Ward?" She questioned with a raised voice
"Hydra budget" he joked, she sighed in frustration before he continued
"I'm kidding, Skye, we're going to that pizza place." He pointed a small pizza shop, it wasn't a chain business just a quant little pizza shop, they found a table and ordered their pizza, pepperoni pineapple, Skye's favorite, and cheese sticks, the cheese sticks were stringy and melted your mouth with delight. Ward laughed at Skye's joy in eating them, she still had the heart of a child and Grant adored it. They talked as they ate, Skye filled Ward in on Hunter and May's current plan and backup plans for catching him, he told her of the projects hydra was working on, but made her promise not to tell Coulson any of it. When they finished their dinner it started to get dark
"Oh Coulson's gonna kill me!" Skye said
"Well might as well take a stroll through the moonlit night before you die" Ward suggested
"I really shouldn't... But I can't say no, let's go"
They walked the sidewalks holding hands and looking up at the stars
"It's so beautiful and so big, when I look at it its like nothing else matters, shield, hydra, nothing.. It's all so small in light of what's out there, I mean Asgard and frost giants and whatever the heck that alien GH serum was from, it's all out there and we're wasting our time hunting you down" Skye thought aloud
"Maybe you should tell May that and get her off my trail.. Make my life a lot easier" he said sarcastically
"I'm serious Ward, look at it"
They continued walking in silence before returning back to the pizza parlor and Skye going back to shield, and Ward hydra, after a soft kiss that is.
