Seven: New Cautions

"You've gotten really fast, Cy!" Lynn said as they finished up their daily game of volleyball. "You're finally an actual challenge," Nashya teased. "Let's go get the blanket set out!" Fernet went to their handmade bench where a red and white patterned blanket was resting, alongside a picnic basket. Groudu had taken the picnic basket in his jaws just before Fernet could bend over and grab it. Eirynn, Nashya, Lynn, and Cy were laughing at the site of Fernet who, looking quite angry, was chasing Groudu around the groups secret area. Finally, after a full 5 minutes of chasing, laughing, and pointing at the slight havoc, Lynn managed to set everything up for lunch. A delicious aroma of ham and cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit, and colacoke filled the air as Nashya teased, "Wow! This looks amazing! I'd be surprised if you actually made it, Cy!" Cy blushed with embarrassment as she stubbornly replied, "So I may not make the best sandwiches, but I found an awesome restaraunt in Meiridyn!" After Tenaru was told of the news of Cy's long lost uncle, she had-with joy for Cy yet reluctant to let her go- let Cy go with Lynn to live among her own family. "Although you didn't make these yummy sandwiches," Fernet said after he finished eating his apple, "She did pay for all of this, so still, thank you!" While Cy dipped her head in thanks, Lynn stared at everyone with mock-unbelief in his eyes. "You really think she bought all of this?" Lynn was cut off at the end of his joking remark as Groudu started growling at the entrance of the hideout. "Groudu hardly ever does that-" Lynn was cut off as everyone looked at the entrance of the hideout with horror. Vynrou had come back! Although, Fernet seemed to see something funny...His eyes looked strange... "Look at his eyes! It's a possession!" Fernet's suspicions were true; Vynrou's eyes were glazed with a deep shade of blood red. "He doesn't look like himself," Cy was looking at Vynrou with confusion. "What're you doing here, Vynrou? Where's that so-called gang of yours?" Vynrou took a lousy step forward, as of he were a puppet on strings. "The...angle spirit...must d....die..." Vynrou's voice was much deeper and sounded sort of staticy.

"So...you were saying?" Cy stole a glance at her friends with pure fear. "That isn't Vynrou, he's being controlled," Lynn replied with a grimace. "The vampire lord, Lord Xyneri, he's messing with him like a toy!" Cy remembered her lessons on him, and the few other vampire lords, from her school lessons. The lords could control lower vampires at their will, to get whatever they need or want. "Cy, stay behind us!" Eirynn warned. The group made a circle around Cy, making sure there would be no surprises. Vynrou-or Lord Xyneri had taken a few zombie-like steps forward, and was closing in on the defenses of his prey. He hesitated before saying"I will...not at...ttack the...spi..irit just...yet, but...let this be...be a warning t...to you....stay...away.." Vynrou's body gave a slight shudder as his eyes turned back to normal and rolled under his eyelids, going unconscious. Lynn caught him just in time before he hit the ground. Hesitating to look at Cy, he gave her a concerned look and said "This isn't going to be a stroll in the park for you, Cy. the most powerful vampire lord wants the last angel spirit dead." After a moment of awkward, terrible silence-"Now what?" Cy asked to no one in particular. Eirynn's eyes lit up. "Let's leave Vynrou where he belongs," Eirynn said with a devilish grin.

His head pounding, Vynrou woke up to find himself swaying in the breeze. He looked down, only to find himself hanging almost 20 feet in the air, from a tree; the same tree where he meets his 'gang' every night.

"Cyyy!!"
