"Depression isn't just plain emptiness, even though sometimes it may feel like it. But in fact, depression makes you feel many things.
Depression makes you feel embarrassed. You find yourself crying just because you dropped a pen. It doesn't matter, it's just a pen, but suddenly it seems like nothing you do is right, like you can't even hold a stupid pen. And then you realise how ridiculous it is. And you feel embarrassed.
Depression makes you feel miserable. You find yourself struggling to complete simple tasks & even grocery shopping nearly makes you cry. You look at all those people around you, living their lives like they actually have something to live for, while you feel like an empty body with a dead soul trying to survive in this world. And you begin wondering if you'll ever feel alive again. And you feel miserable.
Depression makes you feel worthless. You find yourself discovering many meanings of this word. Worthless. Getting out of bed? Not worth it. Taking a shower? Not worth it. Eating? Not worth it. Living? Not worth it. Someone may tell you, "You deserve to feel happy and one day you will!". But the thing is, you feel like you don't deserve to feel happy. You feel like you're not worth it. And you feel worthless.
Depression makes you feel helpless. You find yourself seeing your life pass by, but there's no way to pause it. You need a break, but everyone seems to keep pushing you to do things you're not able to do. You need someone, you need some support so desperately, but everything falls, crashes down, breaks & you know you can't do anything about it. And you feel helpless.
But the most dangerous thing depression makes you feel is tiredness. You find yourself feeling too tired to clean up your room, feed your pet, take a shower, get out of bed. Everything is tiring and even sleep doesn't help anymore. Life exhausts you. You don't want it anymore. You want it to stop. You don't want to be. And you feel tired.
And suddenly you don't know what's worst. The suffocative emptiness or the drowning wave of nasty, icky feelings."
