Sang lay in the meadow on a bed of white daisies. The sun shone gloriously in the sky; it's warmth radiating a blissful welcome blanket of heat.
Giggling, she fanned her arms and legs out from her body and tried to make a "daisy angel."
Success was not apparent, however, as the daisies were not willing to cooperate; not today anyhow.
Flipping herself over she began to try to "swim", the thick bed of flora beneath her supporting her weight while she mimicked a front crawl stroke. When that failed too, she flopped back onto her back and gazed at the sky, using her hand to block out the sun. She was happy. Free and deliriously happy. If it was possible, she felt drunk happy. Why? Because she was in a meadow full of luscious daisies, the sun shining gloriously in the sky, a picnic blanket with delicious treats lay within her reach, and she was not alone.
"I love it here," she sighed. "I've decided that I'm never going back. Well, I'm staying here as long as that beautiful sun shines in the sky at least!"
"Why have we never done this before? Just the two of us. Why?" Sang sighed again as her fingers trailed amongst the daisies.
"I think I'll make a daisy chain!" She exclaimed. "Yes, I'll make a daisy chain. I think I can remember how to do it," she mused. "Hmm, yes, I remember now."
Sang began plucking the daisies from around her, humming to herself. She placed a few in her lap, then sighed and committed herself back to her lucious bed. She once again lay back, and this time closed her eyes. She really did not know what to do from one minute to the next. Resting was exhausting work!
A grape suddenly landed in the hollow of her throat. "Hey!" she cried. "That could have hurt me!"
"I think not, you're being a bit overdramatic," a deep, masculine voice retorted.
Sang laughed. "Sorry, I just don't know what to do next. One minute I want to lie here, the next I want to run through this meadow, the next I want to make a daisy chain. It's been too long since we've had any freedom, hasn't it?" she replied sheepishly.
"You're right, it has been much too long. We're definitely overdue some down time, as far as I'm concerned, so enjoy it while it lasts. You do know that it's going to rain later?" he said.
"Is it?!" Sang replied. "Just look at that beautiful, clear blue sky. I'd better make the most of it then, before the rain comes. Are you going to play that thing?" Sang indicated at the guitar lying on the picnic blanket.
"If you'd like me to?" he replied.
"Yes, please! That would be so perfect, on such a perfect day."
"What would you like me to play?" he asked Sang.
"Oh," she paused, "anything that you'd like. You choose."
"As you wish," he said.
Placing the guitar on his lap he checked the tuning, strummed a few chords and then a beautiful gentle melody flowed from the guitar. His voice as soft as angel's feathers gently floated across the meadow.
Breathtakingly beautiful were the only words that she could use to describe the player and the melody both. Suddenly the meadow, which had held such glory for Sang, faded into the background. She became oblivious as the words that reached her ears, stirred such emotion and devotion in the listener.
Not a lot of time to think today
It's almost over now
Didn't need it anyway
