By the time Frost was back at the palace, it dark. "Where have you been?! It's hard to miss a bright white IceWing flying in the middle of the night. What were you thinking?" Queen Polar burst out angrily.

"My apologies, your Majesty. I had a bit of an...unexpected encounter with some SkyWings," Frost muttered. Her eyes met her Queen's, but she lowered her head slightly in submission.

The Queen's eyebrows arced upwards. "SsskyWings? Where?" she hissed, her long tail lashing. "I'll rip them apart! I'll freeze their limbs and slice them off one by one! Where. Did. You. See. Them?"

Frost stared back into the bright blue eyes that were boring into hers. "I accidentally flew across the border. Oh, and I'm immune to fire."

Queen Polar's eyes narrowed. "Did they say anything?"

"Uh, they mentioned something about an arena..." Frost trailed off.

"Frost. Did they specify about the arena?"

Confused, Frost shook her head. "No. Why?"

Queen Polar seemed to deflate a little. "Many of our best IceWings were taken as prisoners of war by Scarlet. None have returned. There is a brutal SkyWing that I've heard of. Her name is Peril. All SkyWings are terrified of her, except for Scarlet. Peril is....Scarlet's notoriously dangerous executioner. She's a demon of a dragon. If you see her, get away as fast as you can. That's about it. I'm worried that she may have killed our missing IceWings."

Growling, I shot frostbreath at one of the icy pillars. "If she murdered Frostbite...I'll kill her. You can be sure of that."

"Scarlet or Peril?" the Queen asked, eyes staring into Frost's. Polar's eyes were calm, yet they didn't completely mask the undeniable hate she held for Scarlet.

Frost looked back at the Queen, eyes alight with rage. "One, the other, or preferably both. I don't really care, as long as the one who incinerated Frostbite is dead."
