Frost's PoV
--------
"Frostbite!" I called. My 'adopted little sister', Frostbite was nothing but a bundle of joy. I saw her coming as she skidded around a pillar, falling on her snout in her eagerness to see me.

""Ouch!" she cried, tenderly rubbing her now bruised snout. I smiled affectionately down at her.

"Let me see," I urged. She turned her snout towards me, and I carefully put a small block of ice of the bruised area. After taking it off, her light blue scales were back to normal, with no hint that she'd ever been hurt.

""Better?" I gently asked. Frostbite eagerly bobbed her small head up and down.

""All better! Thanks, Frost! Where are we going?" I was sure I had the goofiest grin on my face.

"Um, your mom, Her Majesty, wanted me to teach you some battle moves."

Her icy eyes lit up. "Wheee! Battle training! Wait till you see how good I am, Frost!"

I chuckled. "I'm sure you're amazing, but let's head out to the training area. If there's anyone already there, I'm sure they'll leave for the Princess." I said. 'Or so that I don't slice them into an icy mess', I added in my brain.

I flew after Frostbite as she barged out the palace doors and into the outdoors. The sun reflecting off the snow would've blinded any dragon but an IceWing.Dragons ducked away at my approach.

At the training area, dragons took one look at me and fled. "Well, would you look at that! The training area is empty!" Frostbite gasped.

I nodded in agreement, a slight smile twitching at the corners of my mouth. "How strange," I said.

"Okay. Enough lazing around. Attack me," I ordered. Without warning, Frostbite launched herself at me with startling speed. I was forced to jump over her, but as I landed, her tail smashed into my leg with brutal accuracy and force, drawing blood. Spinning, she turned to face me, hissing. The bubbly spark in her eyes was gone, replaced by dead determination.

Growling, she rushed at me. I tried to dodge, but her head snapped around and she shot frostbreath at me. At the same time, she slashed my shoulder with her claws. 'Fight back!' I screamed in my head.

Quickly, I slammed my tail into the snow, creating a cloud of white powder. I beat my wings, launching into the air. "Let's see if your aerial skills match your ones on the ground!" I called. Almost immediately, Frostbite came hurtling up out of the cloud, talons outstretched. I attempted to avoid her, but yet again, her tail intercepted me. Grumbling, I thought, 'Fine. You want to play that way? I can play your little game.'

I stared at Frostbite, opposite me. I feinted to the left, then dived down. I checked over my shoulder to see if my she was following. Indeed she was. 'This is the hard part. Steady....steady....NOW!' I thought. Just before I hit the snow, I pulled up into a backwards loop, watching as Frostbite crashed into the snow. I winced.

Soon, her head popped up. As she shook off the snow, she yelled, "That was great! Teach me how to do that, Frost!" So the rest of the afternoon was spent teaching her how to pull out of a dive. By dusk, she could do it perfectly, and add fend off my attacks after it.

"Your Majesty?" I called.

"Is that you, Frost? Come in," came the reply. I pushed open the large throne room doors. I walked in, curved talons clicking on the enchanted ice.

"Queen Polar." I knelt before the Queen.

"Yes?" She stared at me, expression unreadable. "Are you aware of the potential Frostbite possesses?" I blurted.

"Frostbite? Oh, yes. She's exceptionally skilled for her age. I almost feel that she'll be the one to challenge me first, before Glacier." Queen Polar stopped her pacing to look at me.

"Why do you ask?"

I stuttered, "I...I was simply shocked at the power she showed today. She's so small too..."

The Queen kept her gaze on me. "Don't judge dragons by their scales, Frost...." She whispered. With a flick of her wing, she dismissed me, letting me know there was nothing more to discuss. Up in my room, I puzzled over it. 'She's so small. How can she possibly posses that much strength?' Only then, did I realize that Frostbite had been able to touch me without any negative effects. 'What is going on?...'
