I stared down at the half white-green pill intently until the dirty sink and glistening capsule blended together. I groaned, covered my confused, pained eyes in this process I knock my glasses off. I hit my back against the wall and slid down, slamming the door closed. I sat there for a bit... what are you doing, Anthony? You know you don't need them...
There was a loud, rattling pounding on the door, "Anthony?" he hiccups, "The train's almost herr."
"O-okay, be right out, dad!" I quickly got up and gathered the pills and swiped them into my hand. However I miss and swipe them in the toilet, frustrated and in a hurry I flush them.
"What's going on in therr?" He pushes on the door more.
"Nothing, Jesus, can't even use the restroom anymore?" He wisely doesn't answer. As I leave swiftly grab my old worn satchel, heavy with books and head out to the other hell.
As I walk down the streets, my head down, I see the lingering dark figures in the alleys. As one reaches out I give a restrained hybrid screech and dart for the train station. As I arrive the train slowly comes to a halt, with the sound of the whistle people start boarding. I take one last look at my small town and sigh "Off to the hell in the hallways." I say as I board the train.
As the train passes through the tunnel I watch the scenery change from a shit-hole of a town to a big glorious city, this is where I go to school. Although it is a big city with many schools to choose from, I have to go to the shittiest underfunded crap-hole in the city.
The train stops and I get off, from there I walk to school. As I walk I notice that there aren't as many shadowy figures than normal, I become worried and even start to look for them, I realize what I'm doing and shake my head.
"It's nothing, maybe they're gone." I tell myself to ease the paranoia. When I finally arrive at school and walk through the old double doors Derick, the biggest and douchiest bully in school, decks me in the face. "Hey bitch, I thought I told you to that if you ever fuck with my homework again, I'll beat your ass." He towered over me like a shut brick wall. "Yeah, you did... I'm sorry." I said as I tried to stop my lip from bleeding. "You better be." He spits on me and walks off, his thick headed thugs close behind him. I pick myself up and head to the bathroom, I sat in a stall holding my lip and pondering on how I had messed up Derick's homework, I always give him the correct answers. I thought and thought until I heard the bell fit class, i cleaned myself up and headed off to first period.
When sitting in class I tend to look outside, but today seemed strange, first it was the sudden disappearance of the shadowy figures, then I had somehow messed up Derick's homework. "Anthony?.. Anthony!" The teacher called on me until I had snapped back to reality. "Yes, sorry sir, won't happen again." He glared at me until I looked back down at my book, then he proceeded to continue on with his lecture. The rest of my day had seemed to go oddly smooth for me.
I walked to the train station and that's when I saw it, the massive crowd of shadow figures, only they weren't where they should be. Normally I would see them in alley ways or hiding in other dark places, but this was different, they were crowded around the train I took to get home. I could see them clearly now, those disgustingly grotesque creatures, they looked like they had been through a grinder, and they were all starting at me, with their soulless eyes.
